The wall breaks open into violet conduits, each one carrying a different tug of claim and memory. Kynes stands at the nexus, and the hidden master shape still reaches beyond the chamber.

Bren comes up beside him, blade low, eyes fixed on the brightest thread. Mara and Vetta watch the conduits branch outward, reading the network like a map with a wound in it.

Mara

Mara

That central strand is the source. Cut that, and the rest loses its order.

Vetta

But if Kynes cuts wrong, the hidden shape may keep a back path alive.

The violet pulse tightens, and one thread flares with House Domini’s old mark, feeding out into the stone beyond the chamber. The choice is plain now, sever the source and unmake the network, or leave the hidden control intact.

Kynes

Kynes

The source thread is the one carrying the deepest pulse.

Kynes lifts his staff and lets a thin arc of power run through the bright thread. The black crows peel apart like ash in a gust, their shapes unraveling from the violet line.

The routed flock breaks its ring overhead and thins into harmless motes. The conduit network loses its borrowed veil, and the chamber’s light turns cleaner.

Bren lowers her blade a fraction, watching the empty air where the crows were. Mara keeps the breach open, eyes fixed on the now-exposed source strand.

Mara

Mara

There. The cover is gone. The source thread is naked now.

Vetta

Vetta

And the hidden master line is straining without its veil. It felt that.

The central Domini-marked strand gives a hard violet pulse, and the old leash-lines fold inward through the wall. A deeper claim-layer signature flashes once, then stutters into stillness.

Kynes

Kynes

The crows are gone. The thread is open to cut.

Ok guy thoughts on how to do this?

Kynes

Kynes

How do we cut this safely?

Mara

Mara

By reading the pull, not fighting it. Find the cleanest seam, then let the source lose its hold all at once.

Vetta

Vetta

And watch the borrowed crossing. If it tugs back, the source will try to save itself through it.

I look from the two girls to Bren, then back to the girls." Did you guys just finish each other's sentence...you've both been doing since we've started heading down this way."

Kynes lets his gaze travel from Mara to Vetta, then back to Bren. The three exchange a small, startled look as if the rhythm had been there all along.

Mara

Mara

Maybe we did. It is easier when the shape is already clear.

Vetta

Vetta

And Bren keeps us honest. If we start drifting, she notices.

Bren

Bren

I notice when the room changes, too. Apparently, so do you all.

I cut the source thread cleanly

Kynes sets the staff tip against the clean seam and lets the thread be seen for what it is, a single bright vein under all the folded lies.

Kynes

Kynes

The pull is centered. One cut should carry.

His arcana slides through the violet strand. The source thread gives once, then opens without tearing the wall around it.

The jagged violet script peels loose and goes dull. The old leash-lines fold inward hard, then stop answering beyond the chamber.

Mara

Mara

That is it. The source is cut clean.

Vetta

Vetta

And the borrowed crossing is fading with it. Good.

Bren

Bren

The room feels quieter. Less hungry.

The wall holds, but the hidden network has gone slack in Kynes’s wake, its remaining lines pulling shut around a dead center.
