Pursuing the Fled Entity

Dust still rains from the ceiling as the breach gives one last shudder. Bren keeps her palm to the wall, feeling the stone answer in tiny, uneasy clicks. Ahead, the newly opened corridor gleams with fractured crystal and a cold, deep pulse.

Kynes

Kynes

The hunger is still there. It is pulling from deeper inside.

Kynes steadies himself at the edge of the broken chamber. The severed lattice has not gone silent, it has only been cut loose. In the corridor beyond, faint red residue crawls across the crystal like a retreating wound.

Bren

Bren

It is moving away. Something fled through there before the seal failed.

A sharp crack splits the air, and a fragment of crystal drops from the arch behind them. Bren jerks back, then looks to Kynes, already choosing the corridor over the collapse. The way ahead is narrow, deliberate, and hidden for a reason.

Kynes

Then we follow it.

Bren gives one hard nod and moves first, hand still skimming the wall. Together they step into the crystalline passage, leaving the broken core behind. Whatever escaped the lattice is ahead, and the corridor leads straight toward the architects' remaining heart.

✓ Quest Accepted

Find the architects’ remaining heart

I envelope Bren in sea of darkness and void step after what is fleeing

SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled +0)

Pursuing the Fled Entity

Kynes folds shadow outward in a silent swell, swallowing the corridor light around Bren before it can catch her outline.

The darkness snaps inward, and both of them are gone from the broken chamber in the space of a heartbeat.

They rematerialize low in the crystalline passage, where the floor tilts slightly downward and cold residue clings to the walls.

Ahead, the fleeing trail is clearer now, a thin wake of red stain and disturbed dust leading deeper into the architects' way.

Bren

Bren

She lands with one hand against the wall, eyes fixed forward, and studies the corridor as if measuring how much of it is still honest stone.

Kynes

Kynes

The seal is farther in. The passage is not empty.

Beyond the bend, fractured crystal opens into a larger hollow, and a sealed shape glints inside it, half-lit by a fading pulse.

The floor trembles once under their feet, as if whatever fled has reached the next lock and begun to wake it.

We void step again with sea of shadows

SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled +2)

Pursuing the Fled Entity

Kynes folds shadow again, and the passage blinks out beneath him.

He and Bren snap forward through a veil of black sea-dark, the crystal walls streaking past like wet teeth.

They land in the larger hollow beyond the bend, hard enough to rattle dust loose from the seams.

The fleeing trail ends at a fractured crystal shell ahead, where a sealed shape glows dimly inside.

Bren

Bren

There. It’s here, or what’s left of it.

A faint tremor runs through the floor, and the red residue along the path pulses once, like a wound trying to close.

Kynes

Kynes

The corridor opened into a lock, not a refuge.

I pust my hand to the crystal and asorbed all of its energy, then dump that energy into soul cutter and cast Métima Leryalë... Raumo Fairion

SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled +0)

Pursuing the Fled Entity

Kynes plants his palm on the fractured shell. The crystal drinks him in, cold and clean, then gives up a flood of sealed power into his hand.

Red residue strips off the floor and coils up his arm. He channels it into the Soul-Cutter, and the blade answers with a low, grave hum.

The corridor tightens around the surge as the ritual takes shape, threads of light knitting from Kynes’s edge into the crackling seam ahead.

Kynes

Kynes

The seal is feeding something older than the shell.

Bren braces herself beside him, eyes fixed on the glow as the floor tremor sharpens underfoot.

The fractured crystal opens like a lid forced from within, and the hidden heart behind it dims under the pressure of Kynes’s spell.

Bren

Bren

It’s yielding. Keep pushing.

I draw the red script and all ambient energy in through my void scar and cast cerio on the heart

SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled -1)

Pursuing the Fled Entity

Kynes lets the red script pour through the void scar in his palm. It leaves the crystal in strips, then vanishes into him and the Soul-Cutter with a sharp, controlled hush.

The ambient thrum in the passage follows, pulled thin and clean, until the air feels emptied of its pressure. Frost-bright cerio gathers at the blade’s edge.

Kynes

Kynes

The heart is exposed.

Kynes turns that gathered light toward the dim shape behind the shell and releases it. Cerio flashes across the fractured seal in a tight white bloom.

The hidden heart locks, then goes still, its red glow guttering out under the strike.

Bren

Bren

That does it. It is spent.

Cracks web through the crystal around them, but the pulse beneath the passage does not rise again. From the broken seam ahead, a darker corridor opens, silent and waiting.
