Kynes and Bren slide into a lower cleft of blue ice, the chute narrowing around them like a throat. Ahead, a seam of amber light flickers through the snow haze, not from the wayhouse itself, but from a relay hidden deeper in the pass.
The fossils in the wall are drilled through with old channels. This route is built to carry light.
Bren catches herself on a frozen ridge and points with her blade. A string of tiny amber blinks answers from the far wall, one after another, as if the pass is whispering Kynes's position onward.

Bren
There, Kynes. It is not just the wayhouse. It is the whole slope.
Kynes reaches the glowing seam and scrapes the snow aside. Beneath the ice, a second grey cord is lashed into the stone, split into nodes that feed the distant light.
The cord twitches as if it feels him. High above, the amber pulse strengthens, then stalls, waiting for the signal to pass.

Kynes
Kynes cuts or severs the relay, breaking the watcher line.
The hidden thread snaps. The amber blinks gutter out along the chute, and for one sharp breath the pass goes blind.
✓ Quest Accepted
Put a physical barrier between Kynes and the wayhouse
“I take the grey thread from way house and alter it with the anti parasite spell and weave it into a grey thread with the intent to cloak and Bren and myself from an sort of sight, scrying or location finding spells.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled -1)

Kynes cups the grey thread in his palm and draws the anti-parasite pattern through it. The cord answers at once, drinking in the spell like dry cloth taking water.
The fibers thin, then braid themselves into something finer, flatter, less eager to be found. Frost gathers along the weave, turning it dull and quiet.

Kynes
The thread holds. It is not shouting anymore.
Bren shifts nearer, watching Kynes’s hands instead of the pass. The amber pulse above the chute falters, then slides past them as if the slope has forgotten their outline.

Bren
That should make us harder to read. Do it again if you can.
Kynes lays the altered cord across their path and knots it low against the ice, between them and the open line to the wayhouse. The barrier is small, but it drinks the last visible glint from the chute.
Above, the distant amber glow searches once, then loses purchase. For a breath, only wind and blue ice remain between Kynes and the road.
