LiveTale is a project built on top of the Fudge role-playing system, combined with LiveTale's own original solo-play story engine. This page acknowledges Fudge and the people who created it, and explains how LiveTale relates to it.
LiveTale is unofficial
LiveTale is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Grey Ghost Press, Inc. or Steffan O'Sullivan. References to "Fudge" and related terminology appear solely to attribute the underlying system under the license described below.
Fudge
LiveTale's character attributes, the seven-rung adjective ladder (Terrible / Poor / Mediocre / Fair / Good / Great / Superb / Legendary, with Legendary extending the original Fudge ladder), the gifts/faults point-buy character creation system, the 4dF dice mechanic, and the trait-vs-difficulty action resolution flow are based on the Fudge role-playing system, originally created by Steffan O'Sullivan and currently published by Grey Ghost Press, Inc..
Fudge material is made available under the Open Game License Version 1.0a and the Fudge System Trademark License. LiveTale's use of Fudge mechanics complies with the terms of the Open Game License.
Open-source software
LiveTale is built with many open-source libraries — Next.js, React, Prisma,
the Vercel AI SDK, and others. A complete list of dependencies and their
licenses is available in the project's package.json file on GitHub.
