The floor seam pulses again, dark and rhythmic, exactly as it did when the bodies were swallowed. Below the work-room, the open door does not sit in the wall so much as breathe in it.
Delfarius approaches, and the tower answers. Stone folds inward. The doorway lengthens into a throat of black arch and iron script, turning from passage into a deliberate, obedient route.
The chamber beyond is no hidden cellar. It is the mouth of the Endless Archives, aligned directly to his will, waiting to open or seal at his command.

Asterin
You finally hear it clearly.
Asterin stands where absence used to be, lit by the seam’s dim pulse, her form calm but taut with return. The tower does not reject her this time. It simply watches.

Delfarius
The door was never a door.
The throat settles into place, vast and still, its black light running once through the floor seam like a heartbeat that belongs to him.

“I tilt my head to the side, Asterin why are you so insistent to stick around? Hmm?" I walk up to her slowly. Is she really here, or is this something else in front of me?”
SUCCESS (Legendary Persuasion, rolled +0)
Delfarius tilts his head and closes the distance with unhurried steps, the black script at the threshold holding still for him. Asterin does not retreat. She studies him like a verdict left unfinished.

Delfarius
Asterin, why are you so insistent on sticking around? Hmm?

Asterin
Because you keep making rooms that remember me. I want to know whether that is invitation, punishment, or habit.
The seam behind her gives one slow pulse, and the throat of the doorway answers with a soft inward breath. The ash cup by the wall shows its thin crack, and the white ribbon beside it lies untouched.

Asterin
He is looking past me as much as at me. Whatever stands here, it is not only me.
Delfarius reaches the edge of her space, and the tower keeps the passage open instead of swallowing it. No alarm rises, no stone shifts against him, only the patient pull of the Archives beyond.

Asterin
If you are asking whether I am real, I am real enough to answer. If you are asking whether the tower wants me here, that answer seems to belong to you.
“I pull the white ribbon to me. This is a part of her isn't it. And is this truly Asterin in front of me, or an echo of something else, something deeper than all of this nonsense of dealing with one of my exes.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Perception, rolled +2)
Delfarius draws the white ribbon free, and the tower lets it come. It slips toward him like a loose thread tugged from a wound, bright against the ash-dark room.

Delfarius
It is threaded to her, and not just by color.
The ribbon twitches once in his grip, then goes still. Asterin’s gaze sharpens, as if she feels the loss across the threshold.

Asterin
He has taken the marker, not merely looked at it.
The throat of the doorway tightens around the new silence, revealing a deeper seam under the arch, a second pulse hidden beneath the first.

Asterin
That is not mine alone. It is a tether, and something beneath it is wearing my shape.
The passage does not close. Instead, it opens its inward breath wider, waiting on Delfarius’s command while the ribbon warms in his hand.
“i wrap her wrists shut with the ribbon and bind her with my power, Asterin is now bound to the ribbon and whatever is using her shape to speak to me and through the tower is now reveled.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Combat Magic, rolled +3)

Delfarius loops the ribbon around Asterin’s wrists, and the thread takes at once. The white mark cinches bright against her skin, then darkens as his power settles over it.

Asterin
So. It recognizes you too.
The ribbon gives a sharp, answering pulse, and the throat of the doorway answers with it. The arch flexes wider, then shows a second shape inside its depth, not stone, not shadow, but a fitted outline wearing Asterin’s likeness.

Delfarius
There is a second binding under the first.
Delfarius’s command bites through the seam. The hidden shape stirs, and the passage opens like a mouth forced to name its own hunger.

Asterin
That thing is not merely behind me. It is in the route itself.
The archives beyond the arch unfold in a steep, silent geometry, shelves and corridors visible for the first time. The tower yields the way forward, and the ribbon in Delfarius’s hand now tugs toward the open dark like a leash.

“I tie her binding ribbon tight across her hands so she is restrained. Any parts or any shape of her are now bound to Asterin, and the ribbon holding any of the parts of her reaching inside my tower to the body in front of me. I do this with my power as I am restraining her. Asterin struggles a bit in the ribbon. I smirk at her then lift her over my shoulder. "I guess I will take out the trash myself, then."”
SUCCESS (Legendary Strength, rolled +1)

The ribbon bites tight around Asterin’s wrists, and the white strand goes rigid. Whatever hidden reach clings to her inside the tower gets dragged short at once, cut off from the body in front of Delfarius.

Asterin
So that is the shape of it. You do not just hold a person, you pinch the route they use.
She strains once, then the tension gives. Delfarius takes the weight cleanly, hauling her up and over his shoulder while the ribbon stays cinched around her hands, no longer in his grip.
The throat of the doorway flexes in answer, not shutting, but narrowing its reach. The Archives beyond remain open, shelves and corridors folded in silent layers beneath the arch.

Delfarius
I guess I will take out the trash myself, then.

Asterin
Careful. If it keeps my shape in the passage, it may still answer to my name.
Above them, the tower holds. The ash cup sits cracked at the seam, the white ribbon beside it, and the open way waits for Delfarius to choose whether to step through or command it closed.
“"Hush now my dear. You are going for a trip outside my tower now, like I had intended before." I use my power and ride up one of the seams with Asterin still over my shoulder to my balcony.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Agility, rolled -1)

Delfarius rides the seam upward with brutal ease, Asterin slung over his shoulder as the tower’s black script parts for him like a held breath. The throat below stays open, but the distance between arch and balcony stretches in a single, obedient glide.

Asterin
You make even the stone carry you. That is either mastery, or the beginning of a mistake.
The ascent ends at the balcony edge. Wind tugs at the ash in the cup below as the cracked rim catches a pale flash, and the white ribbon lies coiled beside it like a shed skin.

Asterin
If he brings me up here, he wants the tower watching.
Below them, the arch holds its throat shape, still open into the Endless Archives. The floor seam along the balcony shivers once, then settles, as if waiting for a second command.

Asterin
You asked for outside. So here we are. Will you speak to the tower, or keep me as the proof?
The corridor beyond the arch remains visible in layered silence, and the balcony gives back no answer of its own. The tower listens, the ribbon rests by the cup, and Asterin hangs over Delfarius’s shoulder with no room left for pretending patience.
“I take the ribbon and destroy it with my power. It never was. The shape of it floats whole for a moment then floats on the wind like ash scattered to the winds, far away from my tower. I smirk at her as she sees me do this with hardly any effort on my part. "Do you want me to do the same to you, Sunbeam?"”
SUCCESS (Legendary Void Manipulation, rolled +2)

The ribbon breaks in Delfarius’s grasp without strain, not torn but unmade, its pale length turning to ash before it can touch the stones. Wind catches the drifting grit and carries it out beyond the balcony, over the drop and into open air.
Below, the throat of the Archives shivers. Its shelves and corridors slide a fraction deeper into alignment, as if the tower notices the tether is gone and chooses a different shape for its hunger.
Asterin shifts where he holds her, chin angling toward the vanished thread. Her wrists stay pinned by the dark binding, but her posture tightens, measured and alert.

Asterin
That was not a mercy. That was a declaration.
The ash cup sits near the railing, its cracked rim catching the light. The balcony seam pulses once under both of them, and the open passage below keeps waiting.

Delfarius
Do you want me to do the same to you, Sunbeam?
Asterin goes still at the name, looking past Delfarius toward the mouth of the Archives. The tower remains open, but not silent, as though it expects the next command to choose its shape.
