The lower chamber breathes like a wound beneath the Obsidian Tower. Black script crawls over the floor, then tightens hard around Delfarius’s pulse. Solan hangs in the wall chains, bloodied and very still. Thing One and Thing Two watch from their irons, waiting for the tower to decide what kind of master it keeps.

The tower answers first, a deep red thrum rolling through stone and bone. The hidden seam beneath the floor widens with a hungry click, and the air turns sharp with old iron and void. The captives flinch as the chamber’s appetite rises toward Delfarius.

It is not stopping. It wants more than chains.

Solan

If he lets it choose, it will take the room, then all of us.

Thing One strains against his chains, breath ragged, while Thing Two lowers his head in grim resolve. Solan lifts his gaze to Delfarius, stripped of pleading now, waiting to see whether he is kept, broken, or used as the final lock.

The chamber falls silent except for the tower’s pulse. Every line of script bends toward Delfarius, toward Solan, toward the open seam below. The final choice hangs there, hot as blood, in Delfarius’s hands.

The tower keeps no master. I keep the Tower as it's master. And my will, my path alone dictates what shape it will remain to keep.

Delfarius drives his bloodied hand down into the script, and the floor answers. The red braid snaps straight, then curls around his pulse like a loyal chain. The chamber’s hunger does not vanish, it bows.

Delfarius

Delfarius

Mine.

The open seam below narrows to a steady, listening slit, held in place by his will alone. The iron reliquary in his grasp gives one dull, obedient thrum.

Solan

Solan

He has done it. The tower follows him, not the other way around.

Thing One

So that is the shape of it. He owns the hunger now.

Thing Two

Thing Two

Lucky us. If he keeps it, maybe it stays done with us.

The black script settles flat across the blood-dark floor, naming Delfarius’s path as the chamber’s only path. The hidden slit stays open, but quiet, waiting for whatever he commands next.

The Tower Hungers

The black script slackened. The chamber’s hunger dulled to a low, watchful murmur.

Solan

Solan

So. It chose you after all.

Delfarius

Delfarius

No. It remembers me.

Then let it hold.

Below the Obsidian Tower, the seam remained fixed and obedient, and the relic’s pulse answered Delfarius’s hand. Solan stood witness to a claim made true, while the chamber’s hunger settled into waiting. The tower was not tamed, but it was no longer master of the hour.
