Interrogation on the Ridge

Seth keeps his boot pressed firmly into the mud near Tyrese's chest, his prosthetic steel blade glinting in the faint moonlight. The campfire hisses as a stray spark drifts upward, illuminating the tense expressions of the scouts.

Tyrese Talk fast, and give me a reason not to take your supplies and leave you for the walkers.

Tyrese

Tyrese

He’s looking for blood, not answers. I need to keep him talking.

We’re just moving through. We heard the rumors about the Kingdom falling and we’re heading for the coast to find a boat. That’s all.

Miller

Miller

Seth You're lying. Your tracks don't match the direction of the coast. You were scouting the Kingdom’s perimeter.

Sasha

Sasha

We were watching for Saviors, not planning an assault on you. We have a camp a mile north. If you want proof, take us there.

Seth

Seth

We aren't going to your camp. Miller, tie their hands. We’re moving them to the high ridge where we can see the horizon before we decide if they live or die.

The Kingdom hasn't fallen, and it isn't going to. We won the war, and I'm not looking for more blood today. We’re all just trying to survive out here.

Seth slowly eases the pressure from his boot, the sharp steel of his prosthetic pulling back as he holsters his revolver. His companions follow suit, lowering their rifles. The tension in the air thins, replaced by the crackling of the campfire and the distant, lonely howl of a stray walker. They gather around the warmth, the scouts looking wary but relieved as the threat of execution fades.

If we can turn these scouts into allies, the perimeter stays secure. If they're lying, I'll know by how they handle the firelight.

Tyrese

Tyrese

You’re being honest, then? We were terrified you were Saviors. We have food, we have supplies, and we’re tired of running. Where do we go from here?
