The ground at the railyard remains unstable, shifting under the weight of the encroaching mudslide. Seth hauls Blake toward the rusted tracks as the ridge behind them groans, spilling boulders and churned earth into the gully. The roar of the mountain is deafening, a relentless tide of stone and debris.

Seth
Move, Blake! We don't stop for anything! Keep your eyes on the rails!

Seth
I can't lose him again. If the ground takes the boy, I'll bury myself here with him.
Miller scrambles ahead, pulling Gareth toward a stationary freight train while chunks of the embankment explode outward. The air is thick with dust and the stench of raw clay. They reach the first car, and Seth shoves the teenager inside just as the steel foundation beneath their boots begins to slide.

Miller
The tracks are buckling! We need to push north toward the concrete bridge!

Miller
If we get trapped in this gulley, we’re as good as buried.
Seth turns his gaze toward the bridge, the only stable path left, as the world behind them descends into a chaotic abyss.

“Seth turns to Gareth and stab some in the gut with his prosthetic and says I made a promise and I'm a man of my word you fucking mut then pushes the bleeding Gareth to the ground and proceeded to beat his head brutally with the side of his steel prosthetic hand until his head is flat and gereth is not noticeable then one of his guys come out of nowhere and hit miller in the side of the head he's dazed”

Seth
I made a promise, and I'm a man of my word, you fucking mut.
Seth lunges, driving his steel prosthetic deep into Gareth’s gut. The man gasps, blood bubbling at his lips as Seth dumps him into the mud. Seth does not hesitate, bringing his reinforced hand down in a rhythmic, savage arc. The steel prosthetic crushes bone and soft tissue until the resistance vanishes and the ground beneath Gareth is nothing but a wet, unrecognizable ruin.
Suddenly, an assailant lunges from behind a rusted train car, swinging a heavy pipe. The metal connects with Miller’s temple with a sickening thud. Miller stumbles, his eyes rolling back as he collapses into the shifting gravel.

Seth
Miller is down. I’m exposed.
Seth spins, his boots skidding on the loose embankment as the unknown attacker levels the pipe for another strike.

“I yell to Blake to take cover and hide he starts trying to crawl under the train cart but they grab his leg and pull him out one guy mounts him and starts attempting to molest him and says just let it happen stop squirming you little shit while one guy bear hugs me from behind keeping me from going free and miller is getting jumped”
SUCCESS (Superb Strength, rolled -2)

Seth
You pieces of shit! Get off him!
Seth channels every ounce of his legendary strength into a violent surge. He slams his elbow backward into the ribs of his captor, the sickening crunch of cartilage echoing through the railyard. As the man wheezes and recoils, Seth pivots with predatory speed, his boots digging into the gravel. He ignores the dazed Miller and launches himself toward the train car. With a roar of pure fury, Seth tackles the predator looming over Blake, his prosthetic hand locking around the man's throat like a vice. He slams the attacker’s head into the iron wheel of the freight car, sending a shockwave of blood and teeth across the tracks.

Seth
One down. Two more scrambling to their feet. Keep the momentum, Seth. Don't let them breathe.
The surviving attacker pulls a jagged shiv from his waistband, eyes wide with desperate malice, while the one Seth just struck begins to twitch and stir against the rusted metal.
“The enemy manages to mount Seth and lay a few punches on him but he eye gouges him and he starts screaming while his eyes are gushing blood and he starts to try to strangle him so Seth bites his two fingers off spits them out the lunges with his teeth towards the guys throw and rips out his neck with his teeth while his blood pours on his face”
SUCCESS (Legendary Melee Combat, rolled +0)

The attacker lunges, his weight slamming Seth into the gravel. Fist after fist hammers into Seth’s ribs, but the survivalist’s eyes remain cold and focused. As the man draws back for another blow, Seth lunges, thumbs burying deep into the assailant’s eye sockets.

Attacker
AAAAAH! MY EYES!
The man screams as fluid sprays across the tracks. Blinded and frantic, he claws at Seth’s throat. Seth doesn't hesitate. He snaps his jaw shut over the man's knuckles, shearing through tendons and bone. He spits the severed fingers into the dirt and, with a guttural roar, lunges forward. He buries his teeth into the man’s jugular, ripping sideways with a violent jerk of his head. Blood erupts in a hot, metallic fountain, coating Seth’s face as the assailant collapses, his life force pooling into the mud. Seth stands, chest heaving, his mouth stained crimson as he glares at the final surviving marauder.

Seth
One more. Finish this.

SUCCESS (Legendary Melee Combat, rolled +0)

The final marauder freezes, his eyes widening as he processes the sight of Seth looming over his fallen comrade. Before the man can raise his jagged blade, a shadow shifts in the gravel. Miller is back on his feet, his face a mask of primal fury.

Miller
Not today, you bastard!
Miller lunges, his fingers locking onto a heavy, rusted iron tie-rod protruding from the earth. He swings the metal like a mace, the steel whistling through the humid air. The impact is sickening as it connects with the marauder’s shoulder, forcing him to his knees. Miller doesn't stop. He brings the heavy rod down again and again, his breath coming in ragged, desperate gasps, his eyes burning with the need to erase the threat. The marauder collapses into a broken heap under the relentless barrage. Miller sways, the rod clattering to the tracks, his hands trembling as the adrenaline begins to fade.

Seth
He is losing control. I need to keep us moving before more of them show up.
“Miller okay that's enough he's gone Seth says and miller pushes Seth away he's screaming no no no! Never fuck with me again! I just let him have his moment as he turns to me and says I'm ready now let's go I turn to Blake and hug him and say son im so sorry I didn't know Im sorry I didn't look sooner as he explains that when the world fell him and his mom found a community but it fell and so did his mother”

Seth
Miller, that's enough. He's gone.

Miller
No! No! Never fuck with me again!
Miller’s chest heaves as he glares at the pulp of his enemy, his knuckles bloodied and raw. The rage drains out of him, replaced by a hollow, trembling exhaustion. He finally turns to Seth, his breathing settling into a ragged rhythm.

Miller
I'm ready now. Let's go.
Seth pulls Blake into a firm, protective embrace. The boy leans into him, his frame shaking.

Seth
Son, I'm so sorry. I didn't know. I'm sorry I didn't look sooner.

Blake
It’s okay. When the world fell... we found a community. It didn't last. My mother, she... she didn't make it when it collapsed.

Seth
A community lost, just like everyone else. If we survive this walk, he deserves a place that doesn't fall.
A distant, low moan echoes through the railyard. The vibration of the collapsing quarry has stirred the dead, and the sound is growing louder, converging from the north.
“Im sorry son im so sorry your safer now Seth says while hugging his long lost son and says he will protect him with his life from now on and Blake agrees to stick with his dad Seth from now on”
SUCCESS (Good Diplomacy, rolled +0)

Seth
I am so sorry, Blake. I didn't know you were out here. I'm sorry I wasn't there when the world broke, but I'm here now. I swear on my life, you're safe with me. Nobody takes you from me again.

Blake
Dad? You really mean it? You won't leave me? I'll go anywhere with you. I'm staying by your side.
Seth pulls the boy into a tight, crushing hug. Miller stands a few paces away, his chest heaving as he keeps a wary eye on the encroaching shadows. The moans are louder now, a dissonant choir of the hungry rising from the quarry floor. The ground beneath their boots gives a sickening lurch, the remaining structural supports of the railyard groaning under the strain of the shifting earth.

Seth
The dead are closing in and the bridge is our only shot. We have to move, now.

Miller
Seth, we’ve got company! If we don't move, we're going to be trapped under the collapse with them!
