The maintenance shed groans, rivets popping like gunfire as the outer wall bends inward. The walker skull wedged in the breach begins to crack under the relentless weight of the undead press.
Silas
I have the coordinates, but I am not sticking around to be buried in this tin can with you lot.

Seth
You promised to guide us, Elias. You walk out that door, you are on your own against the horde.

Seth
He is cutting and running the second things get difficult. I knew he was a liability from the start.
Silas
I kept my end of the bargain. I am done risking my neck for people who do not even trust me.
Elias kicks open the side egress, ignoring the snarling dead just inches away. He sprints into the dark fog, vanishing before Seth can raise his weapon.
“God damnit okay let's go guys”
SUCCESS (Legendary Tactics, rolled -1)

Seth
Dammit. Miller, grab the supplies. We are moving through the back ventilation shaft. Do not look back.

Seth
The structure is screaming. If that roof buckles, we are buried alive with those things.
Seth kicks a heavy rusted pipe into the breach, creating a momentary barricade of twisted metal. The screeching of the collapsing shed masks their movement as he gestures for Miller to scramble toward the narrow opening in the rear wall.

Miller
It is too tight, Seth! We will never fit with the gear!

Seth
Then dump the secondary pack and move! Now!
Seth keeps his AK-47 leveled at the shifting gap, his finger hovering over the trigger as the first wave of walkers pours through the bending iron walls. He doesn't wait for them to finish their climb, diving headfirst into the shaft just as a support beam slams into the spot where he stood.
“Run to safety”
SUCCESS (Good Agility, rolled +0)

Seth
The air is thick with the scent of ozone and pulverized concrete. We made it out, but that ventilation shaft is a death trap if the entire structure decides to fold inward before we clear the perimeter.

Seth
Don't stop moving, Miller. If those things are following us through the shaft, keep your eyes on the exit.

Miller
My lungs are burning, Seth. I can hear them dragging their feet against the metal behind us.
Seth shoves Miller forward, their boots kicking up clouds of grit as they crawl through the dark, cramped passage. Behind them, the screech of tortured steel reaches a crescendo. The heavy floor above them groans, sinking inches deeper into the mud. Seth pushes hard, his fingers scraping against the rusted edges of the vent, until a sliver of grey, rain-slicked light appears at the far end of the tunnel. He lunges toward the opening, his shoulder slamming into the external frame as the primary support beam finally snaps, dropping the roof into the shed’s heart with a deafening roar.
