The Warded Passage Revealed

Cold blue light pours from the widened crack, turning the nursery floor pale. The hidden passage breathes frost into the warm nest, and Annika Mal shifts above the eggs, tense and watchful.

That seam was sealed for a reason. Something below this nursery is feeding the wall.

The hatchlings crowd closer to Huarti's legs, chirping low. The eggs answer with a steady, uneasy hum, as if they feel the same pull from beyond the stone.

The Hatchling

Keeper, is it treasure... or danger?

Huarti stands at the threshold and the blue air clings to his red aura. Inside the narrow passage, ice crystals glitter along black stone, and something deeper in the wall gives a slow, living pulse.

Huarti

Huarti

The crack is a warded chamber, not a simple tunnel.

Annika Mal lowers her head, ready to shield the brood, while the hatchlings wait in a tight cluster. The nursery falls quiet except for the pulse from within the passage.

Huarti now decides what the nursery's secret becomes, sealed, seized, or opened into power.

I speak drahon "hussul guhl"(close hole) and "pok" stop at the gap.

The Warded Passage Revealed

Huarti speaks the draconic command, and the frost in the seam jolts hard as if struck by a hidden lock.

The blue-lit gap narrows at once, stone grinding inward under his will. Cold breath spills out in a thin ribbon, then thins to mist.

A final "pok" snaps through the passage like a nail driven home. The ward seals with a clean, heavy hush.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

Closed. Good. The brood can breathe easier now.

The Hatchling

Keeper... you shut it.

The eggs’ uneasy hum settles into a steadier rhythm, and the hatchlings loosen their cluster around Huarti’s legs.

On the stone where the crack stood, a pale blue sigil remains, faint but obedient, like a lock waiting for its master.

I spell weave an arcane box that emits melodies and stories visually of good gaia representing figures fighting evil and other stories calming about pure moral beings blessing nature.

The Warded Passage Revealed

Huarti lifts both hands over the nest, and a red-gold box of force unfolds between his fingers. Its faces hum with quiet light, as if carved from spellwork and patience.

Lines of blue and green drift across it, shaping little figures in motion, guardians shielding groves, rivers bending through bright fields, branches blooming where their hands pass.

A soft melody follows the images, wordless but clear, and the eggs answer with a deeper, calmer pulse.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

That is beautiful. Even the brood can feel the difference.

The Hatchling

Stories... for us?

The hatchling edges closer to the glowing box, while Annika eases her stance and watches Huarti with open relief.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

If you keep filling this nursery with signs like that, they will grow up knowing exactly who protected them.

I tell them i will stay for one night and must leave in the morning before light.

SUCCESS (Great Willpower, rolled +0)

The Warded Passage Revealed

Huarti lowers the glowing weave a little, letting its light wash over the nest instead of towering above it. The box steadies, and the eggs answer with a warm, even hum.

Huarti

Huarti

I stay one night. At dawn, I leave.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

Then we have the night, and that is enough. I can keep watch while you rest.

The Hatchling

One night only... will you tell us another story before you go?

Annika gives the hatchling a small, tired smile, then looks back to Huarti, her relief settling into something steadier and more certain.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

They remember every word. If you leave them a name to hold onto, they will carry it.

The spell-box dims to a gentle glow, and the nest grows quieter around Huarti’s answer, waiting with full attention.

I challenge them, ask the box in dragon to show you what you want to see most and i will aid its story telling, ask it for what intrest you and it will show it

SUCCESS (Great Arcana, rolled +1)

The Warded Passage Revealed

Huarti tips the red-gold weave toward the nest and speaks to the box as if it were a listening courtier. The glow sharpens, then opens like a curtain.

Blue light spills across the eggs, and each shell answers with a different shimmer, a dream made visible for a heartbeat.

One hatchling sees a sky full of wings. Another sees a warm river of gold. The largest image blooms between them, a tall red shape standing guard over a sleeping brood.

The Hatchling

That one... that is what I want most.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

They are showing you trust, not just desire. They want someone immense enough to keep the dark away.

The spell-box deepens the visions at Huarti's command, threading his presence through them like a banner through wind. The eggs hum louder, calm and certain.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

Tell them the story in your own voice, Huarti. They are listening.

Mine? I ask

SUCCESS (Great Willpower, rolled -1)

Huarti

Huarti

Mine, Huarti says, and the box's light folds inward at his voice, as if it recognizes a claim.

The dream-images shift. Wings, gold, and watchful fire gather into one image of a red guardian above the nest.

The Hatchling

Then tell it again... slower. I want to keep it.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

They are not just hearing a tale. They are choosing a shape for courage.

Huarti lowers the spell-box a little, letting the glow pool over the eggs like a blessing. The humming stays steady.

The Hatchling

Will you stay in the story with us when it ends?
