The blue glow above Huarti’s palm deepens into a calm, steady flame. It paints the dune in soft color, and the still desert feels almost held in place.

Annika Mal
I can feel her in it. Not as a threat, just... present. That is a strange sort of comfort.
An keeps watch a few paces away, but his stance eases. The shimmer from Ehahase’s presence hovers small and bright, like a lantern that knows its own name.

An
This is quieter than a border should be. I do not mind that.

Huarti
The light is stable. It does not strain the air.

Annika Mal
You have done more than fortify a nest, Huarti. You have given it a memory to rest inside.
The blue glow lingers between them, gentle and unhurried, while the dune remains warm and still.

The blue glow above Huarti’s hand shrinks to a pinprick, and then steadies. Beneath the dune, the nursery’s hush is broken by a dry hiss, like sand poured over stone.
Ehahase
No... that is not from the warding.
Ehahase lifts her head toward the slope. A seam of pale light opens in the sand, not a crack in the ground but a deliberate veil parting, as if someone hidden beneath the dune has found the nursery’s name and is answering it.

Annika Mal
Huarti, do you see it? It is listening to us.
From the slit of light comes a thin shard of bone-white crystal, spinning once before stopping upright in the sand. Carved into it is a ward-mark Huarti does not recognize, older than the patterns in his bundle and placed with careful malice.
“I cast reverse curse on it”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled -1)

Huarti lowers his palm toward the shard, and the blue pinprick dims to a cold thread. The ward-mark on the crystal buckles inward, then turns inside out like a seal pried from wax.
A thin wash of dark sand spills from the slit, not as threat but as release. The pale light softens, and the malice in the crystal drains into a harmless, chalky sheen.
Ehahase
It is unmaking the curse... and leaving the nursery untouched.
The shard tips, then settles flat in the sand with a dry click. Around it, the blue calm settles broader for a breath, as if the dune itself accepts the reversal.

Annika Mal
That mark was meant to cling. You turned it back on itself.
Ehahase
Son... the air feels kinder already.
Ehahase steps closer to Huarti, her shoulders easing as she studies him and the spent shard together. The slit of light remains, now quiet and empty, waiting for a choice.
