The Nursery Acknowledges the Devil

Huarti steps out of the warded chamber into the nursery's vast belly. Warm, mineral air rolls over him, thick with dragon-fire and sweet shell-musk. The cavern opens high above in jagged tiers, lit by red glow and pale egglight.

Below the ledges, the brood stirs in the shadows. Hatchlings lift their heads at once, and the eggs answer with a deep, steady pulse. The whole nursery seems to recognize his presence and tighten around it.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

The chamber was only the throat. This is the heart.

He brings the air with him. Even the stone listens.

A low rumble passes through the nest platforms as Huarti crosses into the open floor. Dust lifts in a slow ring around his feet, then settles, as if the nursery is measuring his stride.

Huarti...

I pray to Aerdrie Faenya and Cast zone of sweet air, uppered

SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled +0)

The Nursery Acknowledges the Devil

Huarti raises his hands and speaks a prayer to Aerdrie Faenya. Pale sweetness spills from the words, light as rain through leaves, then turns and settles through the nursery like a blessing with teeth.

A zone of sweet air blooms around him, clear and lifted, washing the nest heat into a calm, bright current. The shell-musk sharpens, the dragon-fire softens, and the heavy cavern breath turns easy.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

That feels... gentle. I did not expect gentleness from him.

Nomad Envoy

No threat in it. Only command, and care.

The hatchlings stretch into the new air, their shoulders loosening. Several eggs answer with a warmer pulse, and the red ward-lines underfoot hold steady, cleaner now, as if the nursery approves.

Hatchlings

Hatchlings

Again...

I pray to summon a powerful legendary elf male elder named "Twi" (Twi rest in astrial clouds in a sage like way and can be summoned when prayed to) who has very long elf like ears to nullify curses, hexes and other impurities and to bless the hatchlings

SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled +1)

The Nursery Acknowledges the Devil

Huarti lowers his hands and prays again, quieter this time. The sweet air tightens into a silver thread above the nest, and a figure gathers from it like dawn finding a shape.

Twi arrives seated in astral cloudstuff, long-eared and serene, his robe of light trailing without weight. He opens one palm toward the brood, and old dust seems to lift from the chamber itself.

Twi

Twi

Impurity thins here. Curses loosen. The nest may breathe clean.

A pale wash passes over the hatchlings and the eggs. The ward-lines brighten once, then settle into a steadier red, stripped of hidden grime.

Twi

Twi

These young ones are guarded already. I add blessing, not burden.

The nearest hatchlings stretch higher, blinking at the elder as if they recognize a distant kinship. Annika Mal eases a breath she has been holding.

Nomad Envoy

You called him cleanly. That is no small thing.

Twi turns his calm gaze to Huarti, one hand still hovering over the brood, waiting for the Devil’s next word.

I thanks him genuinely

SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +2)

Huarti

Huarti

I thank you. Truly.

Twi

Twi

Then the blessing has found its right chamber.

Twi lowers his hand at last, and the pale glow thins to a calm sheen over the nest. The hatchlings settle deeper into the woven mats, no longer restless.

Twi

Twi

I do not often see a lord of wrath stand so still before the small and vulnerable.

Annika Mal lets out a soft, disbelieving laugh, then looks from Huarti to the brood as if measuring a new truth by sight alone.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

They feel it too. The room is easier now.

A nursery remembers who keeps faith with it.

The closest hatchling lifts its head toward Huarti, blinking slowly. Twi turns that serene gaze back to him and leaves the silence open, as if waiting for whatever name Huarti gives this peace.

✓ Quest Accepted

Speak the brood's hidden seal's name

I speak one of my most powerful dragon mothers of many in all time, a good black dragon titan and matriarch but of pure morals named "Morba"

SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled -3)

The Nursery Acknowledges the Devil

Huarti names Morba, and the seal answers at once. The cleaner red ward-lines flare across the nursery floor, then settle into a deeper pattern like ink finding its true shape.

The brood’s hidden seal surfaces in the air above the nest, a black sigil edged with faint crimson. It hangs for a heartbeat, solid as carved stone.

Nomad Envoy

There. The brood knows it now.

Annika Mal

Annika Mal

The nursery holds. I can feel it locking into place.

The hatchlings press closer to the nest rim, not panicked, only attentive. The eggs remain still beneath the steady pale sheen.

Twi

Then the name is kept. Speak again if you would deepen it, or leave it sleeping.

From the entrance, Annouso shifts aside and the shadowed doorway opens to the wider spires beyond, waiting on Huarti’s command or departure.
