Defining the Borders of Dominion

Huarti steps onto a higher terrace carved into the Obsidian Spires. Hot stone still breathes from the nursery below, but up here the wind bites with dry desert chill.

The seal is here. Our people wait for the line you draw.

She holds the alliance seal against her chest and looks past Huarti to the dunes, where the first tents and wagon paths wait at the edge of his new reach.

The terrace overlooks the western flats. A better place to mark borders than the nest.

Huarti crosses to the balustrade. Below, the nursery glow spills through a slit in black stone, while beyond it the desert opens wide and unclaimed.

Name the boundary, and I carry it back. My tribe will keep to it.

The envoy waits, steady but tense, as Huarti chooses where his protection ends and his dominion begins.

Defining the Borders of Dominion

On the high terrace, Huarti plants the terms into stone and breath. The old seal in the envoy’s hands answers with a low, iron glow, then the western edge of the terrace takes on a faint red line, as if the border itself remembers being named.

Then it is real. We carry your rules back, and we keep them.

Huarti’s shadow stretches over the new line. Below, the western flats lie quiet, and the hatchlings’ heat stirs faintly behind the terrace doors like a distant hearth.

Your young dragons will have our hands for the journeys, the tracks, and the hard watching. In return, we ask shelter beneath your border when winter bites.

The envoy lowers her head once, not as surrender, but as witness. The seal’s glow settles into the stone and fades, leaving the boundary marked without any banner or chain.

He does not waste words. That makes the pact easier to carry.

Say only this, Huarti. When the nomads cross your line, what name do we speak so your border knows us?
