Two weeks of clean roads and watched horizons have made the desert quieter. Huarti now stands at a smaller camp of canvas, stone rings, and wind-tied posts, where nomads turn as guardian gulls sweep down from the sky.
The birds drop a rusted clockwork key into the sand at his feet. Its teeth are old, its runes hum with the same deep pressure Huarti has felt in the archive beneath the Spires.

Saffi
That key is not from our camp. It is an old claim, or an old lock.
The gulls wheel upward again, but not as scavengers. They hover like witnesses, waiting for Huarti to take the next step in Ehahase's name.

Nomad Envoy
If this opens what I think it opens, then the road is only the first gate. The desert still has a deeper order.

Huarti
The key answers the archive.
Huarti lifts the key. The hum in his hand settles into a direction, pointing beyond the dunes, toward a buried authority that can either submit to Ehahase's protection or resist it.

Rusted clockwork key
✓ Quest Accepted
Teleport to the distant dark castle
Huarti leaves High dune above a nomad camp edge behind and arrives at Dark, tall, haunted castle.
“I weave a slow steady dimensional door step to the location of the keys source, identified as a dark, tall, haunted castle”
SUCCESS (Legendary Agility, rolled -1)

Huarti steps out of the slow door-step inside a vault of black stone and cold draft. The castle looms around him, tall and half-swallowed by shadow, its halls breathing old dust and wet moss.
The key in his hand grows heavier, then answers with a low pull. Ahead, a seam of pale light flickers in the wall, not a welcome, but a claim that has been left open.

Huarti
The key is aligned with this place.
Huarti’s arrival stirs the castle wards. A hidden line beneath the floor brightens, then fractures into a narrow arc of gold that exposes something underneath the threshold.
The breach is not in the castle itself, but in the desert's protective order. Someone, or something, has cut a private passage through the boundary and left it masked by old lockwork.

The Castle Wall
Let the keeper see the flaw.
The locklight widens just enough to show a buried doorway and a wrong-turn in the ward pattern beyond it, waiting for Huarti to seal it, claim it, or follow it deeper.

Seal the unauthorized breach in the desert's protective order

Teleport to the distant dark castle
“I press the key in "the castle wall's" chest”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled -2)

Huarti presses the key against the wall’s cold cheststone. The metal sinks in with a soft click, and the pale seam answers under his touch.
Gold lines race outward through the masonry, then split, exposing a buried ward-pattern beneath the threshold.
The pattern is wrong. It cuts across the desert’s protection like a private door, hidden inside the castle’s old lockwork.

The Castle Wall
There. Let the keeper see it.
The breach steadies instead of collapsing, held open by Huarti’s arcana. The key remains seated, and the exposed passage waits for his next command.

Huarti
The wardline is broken beneath the threshold.
Above the glow, the hidden doorway sharpens into view, its edges marked by a wrong turn in the protective order.
“I run my eviler script into the runes”
SUCCESS (Good Evil arcana, rolled +0)

Huarti lets the black script pour from him in a thin, controlled spill. It crawls over the exposed runes, not erasing them at once, but teaching them a harsher obedience.
The ward-pattern shudders. Gold turns bruised red, then folds inward, line by line, as if the breach is being renamed from the inside.
A second shape emerges beneath the false lattice, a narrow hand-cut channel hidden inside the castle wall, pointing deeper into the desert’s old protection.

The Castle Wall
Yes. There is the true seam, keeper.
Huarti’s script seals the wrong door shut and leaves his mark across it, a dark crest threaded through the surviving gold.

Huarti
The breach has a hidden route behind it.
Above the threshold, the wall settles around the new seal. Somewhere beyond it, the gulls’ distant wings scrape once against the cold air.
