The Brood Begins to Hatch

Huarti steps from the frost hollow back into the nursery, and the chamber answers him at once. The same ancient stone, the same latent power, the same warm pulse under the floor, only now the silence feels earned.

The eggs wait in their ring of stone, each one thudding with a steady subterranean heat. Their glow swells and softens in time with his approach, as if the brood remembers the hand that claimed them.

The hatchlings gather close, no longer wary, no longer uncertain. They press toward Huarti’s legs and the nest rim, holding their ground like they mean to guard what he has made.

They know you, now. They are waiting for what comes next.

The eggs answer with a deeper thrum, and a fine crack runs through one shell, then another. The promise of hatching returns, not as a threat, but as a fulfillment.

Huanti, the nest is secure. We hold it for you.

Huarti stands before the pulsing brood as the chamber settles around him, master of the nursery at the exact moment its future begins to move.

I cast zone of sweet air and pray to Aerdrie Faenya over the eggs hatching

The Brood Begins to Hatch

Huarti lifts both hands over the eggs, and pale green sweetness spreads through the chamber like warm breath through leaves.

The cracked shells answer at once, their fissures brightening as if the air itself is coaxing them open.

A soft prayer to Aerdrie Faenya settles over the nest, and the magic holds steady, gentle and exact.

This is no crude force. It is chosen mercy, wrapped around a very dangerous purpose.

One egg gives a sharper snap, and a wet shine of movement shows through the widening shell.

The nest stirs, lord. We keep the circle.

The nursery hum deepens, secure and luminous, while the first hatchling strains toward the opening shell.
