Cold vapor pours from the opened seal. A shadowy mass spills after it, slow and testing, as if tasting the chamber for weak points. Huarti stands in the breach, a red wall against the dark.

Merek Vale
It is awake. If it gets past you, it will follow the wards straight to the brood.

Annika Mal
Huarti, hold it there. If it crosses the archive threshold, your desert boundary becomes its road.
The ink-stained walls pulse harder, beating in time with Huarti's draconic heart. The thing in the gap leans toward that rhythm, hungry and patient, as if it means to learn his shape and wear it.

Huarti
It reaches for my domain through the archive.
Huarti does not yield. The breach narrows against his presence, and the shadow mass hesitates at the edge of the chamber, pinned between his will and the collapsing seal.
For a moment, the path is clear, if Huarti pushes now, he can force the entity back or claim its source before it learns the desert's true name.

Force the shadow mass back
“I cast reverse curse on it”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled -1)

Huarti answers with a slow, exacting motion, and the curse turns inside out. The shadow mass shudders as if something buried in it is being named aloud.
Its edge peels away from the seal, dark vapor curling backward into the breach instead of spilling forward. A thin thread of pale light snaps through the gloom.

Merek Vale
It is yielding. Keep it there.

Annika Mal
That reversal, it is exposing something under it...
The mass compresses, forced into a tighter shape, and for an instant a carved glyph gleams where the shadow was thickest.
Cold vapor drains back through the opening, leaving the chamber clearer and the seal’s edge visible again.

Merek Vale
Huarti, if you can read that mark, now is the time.
