The workshop door swings wide, and cold street air cuts through oil, parchment, and lamp smoke. Kina steps inside, taking in Slaan, Kaelith, and One-Eye in one sharp glance.

Kina

Good. You are all together. The Chapel has sped up its work, and I do not mean by a little.

She shuts the door behind her and drops a folded scrap onto the cluttered workbench beside the waxed archive tag. One-Eye stiffens, keeping his hands clear of the tag.

I have a route, a name, and a warning. But I want what Slaan has found before I give any of it away.

Slaan says the Chapel is pushing hard, but she does not give them everything for free.

Kina’s mouth tilts once, not quite a smile. Her eyes flick from the tag to Slaan, measuring the room like a field report.

Fair. Then trade cleanly. Tell me what you uncovered, and I will tell you why the Chapel is moving like a knife drawn halfway from the sheath.

My posture and tone change from smart ass to someone giving a field report... I start from the start with when I was handed the mission to expose the chapel by protecting and rescuing Kaelith to where I walked into the inquisitors gathering and sprung their trap and the ones at top. And I show my newest batch of evidence, knowing that king Steven already shared the records because he Hired the black company.

Slaan lets the sharpness drain from her posture. She lays out the road from the first order to the chapel trap, clean and steady, keeping her hands visible as she speaks.

I was sent to expose the Chapel by protecting Kaelith and getting him out alive. That trail led me through their watchers, their false gatherings, and the trap they thought would close around us.

Kina listens without interrupting, her gaze moving once to Kaelith, once to the waxed archive tag, then back to Slaan as if fitting each piece to a map.

At the meeting, I walked straight into the inquisitors, turned their own ritual space against them, and forced the names higher up into the open. The ones at the top are not hiding well anymore.

Slaan spreads the newest evidence across the bench. The folded scrap, the archive mark, and the old court signs sit together in plain view, and One-Eye’s fingers hover, then stay clear.

King Steven already shared the records, because he hired the Black Company. That means this is bigger than one chapel cell, and you should know exactly what I carried out of it.

Good. Then we are speaking the same language now. Give me the rest, and I will give you the route that explains why the Chapel is moving like it expects an audience.
