Lord Markul pins the ash map flat. The floor gives one last uneasy stir, then settles. Slaan stands at the threshold of the strike, with Bram and Dravin braced beside her, and the bane stone waiting in reach.

If the network is bait, then we cut the line here. King Steven must see what hides beneath it.

Then do it clean. No wasted motion, no wasted lives.

This ends where it started, at the trap.

The old stones hum faintly as the bane stone is brought forward. Somewhere beyond the keep walls, a distant clatter answers, like a snared web tightening.

Lord Markul turns toward Slaan, hand open over the marked route, waiting for her signal to strike and drag the corruption into the light before King Steven.

I remind the Undead Lord"We'll have to get the stone to All fathers keep, and have line of sight with their tree of life, then in three days the old magic weakens the tree. That gives you and Grimjack time to march." I say planly. " If you want I can lay the stone, I just need the name stone summoning scroll to do it."

We bring the bane stone to All Fathers Keep, with line of sight on the Tree of Life. In three days, the old magic weakens it. That gives you and Grimjack time to march. If needed, I can lay the stone, I just need the name stone summoning scroll.

He studies Slaan’s words, then gives a single, sharp nod. The ritual terms are clear, and so is the cost.

Lord Markul’s hand closes over the ash map, not in warning now, but in agreement. Bram’s stance eases by a fraction, though his eyes stay hard on the route marks.

Then we have the shape of it. The stone, the sightline, the delay. That is enough to speak of the next step.

The bane stone’s hum fades to a low, obedient thrum. The chamber feels less like a snare and more like a decision made aloud.

I will have the scroll brought. Lay the stone when the way is set, and let the old lie show itself.

Above the ash-pinned route, the faint stir in the floor settles at last. The hall holds in uneasy quiet, but the plan is fixed, and the strike has a shape.

The scroll is ready. When the king sees the rot, there will be no hiding it again.

Then let the stone speak. No more masks.

Good. I was tired of waiting in the dark anyway.

The trap has stirred, but the line holds. Now it ends in the hall, not in whispers.

The tension in the chamber eased as the last measure was set and the party stood ready at the threshold.

When the strike came, the hidden corruption within the Church was forced into the open, and King Steven could no longer look away. The banestone's bite broke the secret network's hold, and the keep rang with the cost of that truth. Slaan stood at the end of it all with allies beside him, and the darkness that had fed on silence was finally brought to light.
