King Steven lowers the note with a shaking hand. The chamber goes tight and cold as the words sink in.

King Steven
The Sun-Eaters have names inside my court. Scribes, stewards, and a senior adviser... replaced.
A low panic ripples through the gathered nobles. Bram shifts toward the throne, and Lord Markul narrows his eyes at the sealed doors.

A Pale Clerk
They are not here for the confession. They are here for the seat beside the throne.
One of the recovered courtiers, bound and kneeling, jerks against the shadows at their wrists. The wax key gleams beside Slaan's hand, and the ash-stamped note points straight to the royal chamber seal.

The Bound Courtier
Too late. The replacement is already in place.
Guards close in around the throne. Slaan sees it clearly now, the third faction is not just in the Church's records, it is in this room, and if they are not exposed before the next audience, they can steer the Chaos node through the crown itself.
✓ Quest Accepted
Expose the Sun-Eater infiltration in the royal chamber
“" first thing is first," near Steven I dump all the records out of my pack with all the evidence. " I've been carrying this all over AERYNTH! " I look at the sand. " That's from Khar."”
SUCCESS (Legendary Persuasion, rolled +0)

Slaan steps in close to the throne and upends her pack. Papers, stamped scraps, route marks, and ash-blackened notes spill across the stone at King Steven’s feet.

Slaan
First thing is first. I've been carrying this all over Aerynth.
She shakes out the last layers, and the court sees the dirt still clinging to them, desert sand among the records.

Slaan
That's from Khar.
Bram crouches at her shoulder, angling the nearest sheets outward so the court can see the seals, the route marks, and the copied names. Lord Markul points once at the ash-stamped scrap, then at the open note in King Steven’s hand.

Lord Markul
There. Compare the hand, the seal, the chain of custody. This is not Church rumor, it is a court wound.

A Pale Clerk
Those marks... those are watcher codes.
The clerk’s breath catches as he looks from the wax key to the court pass, then to the scattered records. Several nobles recoil from the throne line, and the bound courtier starts to thrash harder against the shadows.

King Steven
Seal the inner ring. Now. No one leaves this chamber until every document is checked.

Expose the Sun-Eater infiltration in the royal chamber
“I summon a poison shadow dagger and walk over to the bound courtier, I take his hand and cut it deep. " That is a fast acting poison, I can stop it, but you have to talk first. And I mean everything." I say coldly”
SUCCESS (Good Intimidation, rolled -1)

Slaan moves off the throne steps and lays a poisoned shadow into her palm, the blade forming dark and sharp enough to drink the lamplight. The bound courtier freezes when she takes his hand and opens it against the edge.

Slaan
That is a fast acting poison. I can stop it, but you have to talk first. Everything.
A thin line of black-red seep darkens the courtier’s wrist. Bram keeps the records spread, while Lord Markul turns his head slightly, ready for the room to crack.

The Bound Courtier
He hisses through clenched teeth, then stares at the blood like it has already betrayed him.

The Bound Courtier
The replacement is already in the chamber. Not all of them know it. The watchers paid for the seal, the pass, and the mouth that opened the door.
The pale clerk blanches at the word watchers, and the king’s hand tightens on the note. Somewhere in the stone, that old rhythmic tremor answers with a dull pulse.

King Steven
Names. Now. Who is in my hall, and who let them in?
The courtier swallows hard, blood beading at Slaan’s blade, as several courtiers edge back from the throne line and the inner ring begins to close.

Keep the Church confession hidden
New Gift: Confessional Silence
“I point those trying to hide to the gaurds " oi them too"”
SUCCESS (Good Intimidation, rolled -2)

Slaan snaps her dagger-hand toward the inner ring and names the men who are trying to hide. The word lands like a thrown knife.

Slaan
You. And them. Guards, take them too.
Two courtiers flinch out of step, one reaching for his sleeve, the other turning too late toward the side doors. Several guards move at once, closing the gap.

King Steven
Seize them. No one leaves this chamber without my word.
The pale clerk points with a shaking hand, the recognition in his face now plain to everyone near the throne. The wax key and court pass glint where they were dropped.

A Pale Clerk
Those are the watchers' marks. Gods, they are already inside the inner circle.
A guard lunges for the nearest suspect, but the chamber answers with a hard tremor, and the rush turns ragged. One courtier shoves backward into the line, trying to break for the sealed side doors.

Lord Markul
There. Do not let that one reach the threshold.
✓ Quest Accepted
Stop the fleeing courtier from reaching the side doors
“I cast stun followed by spectral bonds on the fleeing courtier”
SUCCESS (Legendary Arcana, rolled +2)

Slaan flicks her fingers, and a stun pulse snaps through the air toward the breaker at the doors. The man jerks hard, his forward lunge collapsing into a stumbling hitch.
Before he can regain his footing, pale spectral bands coil around his chest and arms, pinning him short of the threshold. His shoulder hits the stone with a dull thud.

The Bound Courtier
No... not there.
The sealed side doors stay shut, but the chamber tremor shivers through the floor again, rattling the evidence at Slaan's feet.

Lord Markul
Good. Hold him there.

King Steven
Search the others. Now.

A Pale Clerk
The watchers' marks, there, on his pass.
Bram surges in beside the throne steps, eyes on the wax key and court pass as the targeted purge tightens around the trapped courtier.
