Morning light stripes Jackson Temple’s kitchen table. Dallas Fontaine sits with a black coffee, sober and still, while the Desk Nine files spread between them like a second meal.

Murderbone lies at Dallas’s feet, alert but calm, one ear twitching at the muffled harbor noise beyond the apartment windows.

You look better with coffee than with whiskey. Let’s sort the chain before it sort of sorts us.

Elena’s paper trail is built to disappear. Somebody taught her well.

Jackson slides a routing slip beside a ledger page, lining up stamps, dates, and initials with practiced hands. His jaw tightens when the pattern starts to click.

Covington sits above Hart. Hart fed the removals. And Elena, whether she knew it or not, moved through the same kind of invisible channels.

Dallas studies the pages, then the weak morning glare on the window glass, then back to the names. The room stays quiet, almost gentle, as the map of the conspiracy becomes clearer.

We’ve got time for one more pass. You want the clean version, or the version that tells us who gets hurt if we’re late?

Confront Covington

Dallas shares everything he knows with Jax. "Hey Jax I really appreciate everything. Does this bitch realize who she picked a fight with? Ive only lost one fight in my life. And I really don't count that one ... it was Chuck Norris."

I appreciate it, Jax. Elena’s trail is built to vanish, and somebody trained her well. The whole chain runs Covington above Hart, with Desk Nine feeding the removals. If she’s in it, she’s been moving through the same invisible channels.

Dallas lays the rest of it out in a low, even stream, the Desk Nine stamps, the ledger stub, the clerk’s fear, the second-floor office, all of it. Jackson stops sorting for a beat and listens like every detail matters.

Jackson Temple

Jackson Temple

Yeah. I hear you. That’s the full spine of it, and it stinks.

Murderbone lifts his head at the shift in Dallas’s tone, then settles again when nothing changes in the room. Jackson reaches for the envelope, then leaves it where it is, as if touching it again might make it heavier.

Dallas Fontaine

Dallas Fontaine

Does she think I don’t know what I’m looking at? I’ve only lost one fight in my life, and I don’t even count that one. It was Chuck Norris.

Jackson Temple

Jackson Temple

That sounds like you, all right. But right now I need the version of you that stays alive, not the one that tries to win jokes with a bruised knuckle.

Jackson’s mouth twitches despite himself, then he sobers and taps the scattered pages into a tighter stack. Dallas’s coffee goes cold beside the evidence, and the kitchen feels smaller for having the truth finally named.

Jackson Temple

Jackson Temple

So tell me plain, Dallas, are we keeping the full chain between us now, or are you still holding back the part that breaks this open?

Dallas shares everything he knows with Jax. "Hey Jax I really appreciate everything. Does this bitch realize who she picked a fight with? Ive only lost one fight in my life. And I really don't count that one ... it was Chuck Norris."

SUCCESS (Legendary Psychology, rolled +0)

Jackson lets Dallas finish, then sits forward in the chair instead of reaching for the papers. The kitchen stays quiet except for the refrigerator hum and Murderbone’s slow breath under the table.

Dallas Fontaine

Dallas Fontaine

I’m not holding back. Covington sits above Hart, Desk Nine fed the removals, and Elena’s trail was built to disappear inside the same channels.

Dallas lays out the clerk, the stamps, the ledger stub, the second-floor office, and the way every clean line of paperwork points back to the same dirty hand. Jackson listens without interrupting, his face tightening by degrees.

Dallas Fontaine

Dallas Fontaine

Yeah, she knows exactly who she picked a fight with. I’ve only lost one fight in my life, and I don’t really count that one... it was Chuck Norris.

Jackson Temple

Jackson Temple

That’s more like you than any sermon. But I need the part of you that stays alive, not the part that tries to win with a bruised knuckle.

Jackson’s mouth twitches, then he spreads the files flat and points to the full chain as if confirming it one more time for himself. He stops guarding the envelope, and Dallas can see he is choosing the whole truth, not a trimmed version.

Jackson Temple

Jackson Temple

All right. Then I’m in on the full chain, and we break it together. What else does Covington touch that we haven’t named yet?
