The lit chamber hums with hidden violence. Ozone bites Dallas's nose as the unknown worker kneels in a nest of exposed wiring, one hand trembling over a bypass clamp, the other shielding a safety interlock box that is already sparking.

Don't come closer. If that relay drops, the whole foundation line goes cold. Or hot. I am not sure which one they wanted.

A hydraulic line shudders beside him, and a crude sabotage rig ticks under the floorboards, feeding pressure into the wedding support grid. Dallas can see the path now, one wrong connection and the machinery below the banquet hall will seize or shear.

This isn't just a trap. It's a timed failure wired into the foundation.

Murderbone holds at the hatch behind Dallas, low and tense, while the worker flinches at every step forward. The chamber's work lamp throws hard shadows across cut cable ends, a stripped panel, and a small control wheel marked with fresh grease.

I was told to keep it moving until the guests are on the floor. After that, nobody cares if the whole hall starts to buckle.

Dallas is staring at the heart of it now, a sabotage mechanism meant to turn the wedding foundation into a collapse point. The worker is the last hand on the switch, and the chamber is one breath away from becoming a grave.

Disable the sabotage mechanism

I kick the worker away from the bypass clamp and grab the control wheel.

The Foundation of a Grave

Dallas drives a hard boot into the worker’s ribs. He slams sideways into the wiring nest, skidding off the bypass clamp as his hand flies free.

Dallas grabs the grease-slick control wheel before it can slip back. The metal bites his palm, but the wheel holds.

No, wait, that feeds the pressure line. If you lock it there, the whole run stops.

The interlock box spits one last shower of sparks, then the ticking under the floor changes pitch and slows.

Murderbone surges forward to the edge of the hatch, hackles high, eyes fixed on the worker.

The wheel is seated. The line is no longer advancing.

Below the hall, the hydraulic shudder fades to a dull, trapped throb. The sabotage run stops moving, but the worker is staring past Dallas at the dark tunnel mouth, where fresh scraping answers from deeper inside.
