Far Harbor gulps the night like a bad conscience. Rain needles the alley behind Professor Dayton's study, turning brick, trash, and broken glass into a black mirror. The crate Dallas shoved under the window sags under the pounding from inside. Jackson's vehicle idles at the curb, lights off, ready to vanish.

Jackson Temple
Dallas, move. They are coming hard.
Two men charge into the alley, collars up, hands low and hungry for the ledger. Murderbone surges at the window, snarling through the narrow gap. Dallas gets one last look at the study, then the line breaks.

Dallas Fontaine
The alley is a funnel. Bad place to get pinned.
Dallas cuts for Jackson's car while the rain drums on the hood like dead fingers. One attacker slips on the slick pavement, shoulder slamming a dumpster. The other keeps coming, reaching for the coat at Dallas's side.

Professor Dayton
Take the evidence, not the street!
Dallas clears the curb as Jackson throws the car into gear. Murderbone barks once from the window, then the study disappears behind rain and brick as the sedan tears off toward the waterfront.
