Commander Korth
Go. Back to the main fort. Bring timber, braces, and any stone you can spare. We hold here.

The Carpenter
Aye. I run before the seam worsens, not because I like it.
The Carpenter backs away from the fork, one hand brushing the wall for balance, then turns and hurries up the tunnel toward the nursery works. Their boots fade fast into the dark.
Kalazan keeps the orb level. Violet light spills across the split passage, catching on a second sigil deeper ahead, then on the new branch cutting off to the side.

The Dark Arcana Caster
It is not a single mark. It is a path, laid in stages.

Commander Korth
We have fewer hands now. Good. Fewer hands, fewer chances for panic. Name the next move, Kalazan.

“I ho to my chamber to get a very powerful cleric relic that has a one use per day flood purify light spell it chants”
SUCCESS (Great Reasoning, rolled +1)

Kalazan turns from the fork and lumbers through the nursery tunnels at once, the orb’s violet gleam sliding over fresh stone braces and damp roots. The air grows warmer as he heads for his chamber.
His door opens to the old hush of his private rooms. Kalazan crosses to a locked cabinet set beside his desk, where relics and tokens rest under warded cloth.
He takes up the cleric relic, heavy in one hand, and the etched surface answers with a low, patient glow. The hidden chant begins to stir before he even leaves the chamber.

Kalazan
The relic is ready.
By the time Kalazan returns, the tunnel light seems sharper. The Dark Arcana Caster leans toward the sigil line, eyes fixed on the second mark.

The Dark Arcana Caster
That artifact hums against the anchor. If the chant wakes fully, it may wash the trace clean, or show what clings beneath it.

Commander Korth
Then use it. Give me the word, Kalazan, and I clear the back way while you work.
Ahead, the second sigil brightens in thin blue-gold veins, and the fork beyond it opens into two dark, waiting passages.

Cleric relic
“I splash holly water on the sigil and chant light into the darkness”
SUCCESS (Legendary Conjuration arcana, rolled +0)

Kalazan flings the holy water across the blue-gold sigil. The mark hisses, then drinks the light instead of flinching, its veins flaring like veins under ice.
He lifts the relic and chants into the dark. Pale radiance spills from the staff, threading through the fork and pouring down both passages in a clean, searching wash.

The Dark Arcana Caster
There, yes. The anchor answers, but it is split. Two paths, one wound.
The second sigil blooms brighter, and a hidden pattern wakes beneath it, a thin line of soot-black glyphs leading into the left tunnel before vanishing under old stone dust.

Commander Korth
Left branch first. I will take point and keep the rear sealed.
The chant finishes with a sharp ring. The darkness ahead does not vanish, but it no longer feels empty, it feels mapped, as if something unseen has been outlined by Kalazan's light.

The Dark Arcana Caster
The residue is ancient, but the concealment is careless. Someone expected the mark to stay hidden, not to be named.
