“Thadeus, choosing to leave the phone alone, walks downstairs to the living room. He peers over the railing to see Elizabeth, the real Elizabeth, fast asleep on the couch. He gently walks over to her, kissing her forehead. Her eyes open to see a smiling, exhausted Thadeus staring back at her. Elizabeth pulls him down to her in an embrace. "So you managed to seal away the Corridor?" Thadeus, holding her tightly, "Yes, you are no longer controlled by that reality. All of the damage done before has been undone."”

Thadeus leaves the phone on the bedside table and moves out of the bedroom, quiet and steady on bare feet. The apartment answers with ordinary creaks instead of impossible ones.
At the railing, he looks down into the living room. Elizabeth is asleep on the couch, one arm folded against her chest, the room dim around her.
He goes downstairs and crosses to her without waking the rest of the apartment, every step careful and unhurried.
Thadeus leans in and kisses her forehead. Elizabeth stirs, then opens her eyes to find him there, smiling through exhaustion.
