The initials EB pulse under Thadeus’s hand, bright as a heartbeat in stone. The obelisk is not a marker, it is a seam anchor, the thing that holds this place folded over itself.
Elizabeth stays back, smaller now in the huge chamber, watching him see it. Her face says she knows he has finally found the real shape of her work.

Thadeus Jovanović
She built the lock, and the corridor around it.
Thadeus plants both hands on the cold stone and lets the Talisman answer the glow. The air shivers, and the chamber doubles for a breath, one version above the other.

Elizabeth Bathory
That is what I was trying to tell you. I made the defenses, and I tied them to the Corridor so it could be held together long enough to matter.
Thadeus steps into the seam as if crossing a thin sheet of water. The room tilts, the hidden layer opens, and the pressure in the air loosens around the obelisk.

Elizabeth Bathory
If you keep going, you can unmake the bad seams and restore the building. But once you cross fully, you will have to choose what stays attached to this reality.
Thadeus faces the split between worlds, one foot in the quiet room, one in the other side. The seam hums, waiting for his next move.
“Thadeus over to Elizabeth, still laying on the couch, her legs still injured, he says, "I understand how to fix this. Will I see you on that side?" Elizabeth face drops, looking at her exposed legs, "With these injuries, I won't be able to walk for some time. I may be able to project myself on that side, but you will physically be alone. Be careful on what your senses tell you on that side. Not everything will be as it appears."”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +0)
Thadeus lowers himself beside the couch, careful of Elizabeth’s injured legs. The seam-light trembles across her face, and his question lands in the quiet between their breathing.

Thadeus Jovanović
I understand how to fix this. Will I see you on that side?
Elizabeth’s gaze drops to her legs, then back to the split in the stone. For once, she does not hide behind the answer.

Elizabeth Bathory
Not physically. These injuries will keep me here for a while. I may project myself there, but you will be alone in the room.
She draws a slow breath, then leans her head back against the couch, voice quieter now, almost careful.

Elizabeth Bathory
Trust your senses less than the structure. On the other side, things may look right and still be wrong.

Thadeus Jovanović
The seam is the real lock, and the room is still folded around it.
“With the sense this may be the last time in this reality, Thadeus leans down to Elizabeth and lifts her off the couch to embrace her again. Elizabeth says, "I'm sorry for everything I've put you through and what damage I've caused. Please return to me." Thadeus smiles brightly, stating, "If I understand how to fix this, all of this will be fixed." He gently lays Elizabeth back on the couch, moves towards on the obelisk and steps through. As he does, the opening behind him disappears, and he is surrounded by the large trees of the Eternal Corridor. He steels himself and begins walking.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Agility, rolled -3)

Thadeus gathers her in close, and Elizabeth goes still in his arms for a beat, surprised by the gentleness of it.

Elizabeth Bathory
I am sorry for what I put you through, and for the damage I caused. Please return to me.

Thadeus Jovanović
If I understand how to fix this, all of this will be fixed.
He eases her back onto the couch, then turns to the obelisk. The seam opens under his touch, bright and layered, like the room is peeling away from itself.
Thadeus steps through. Behind him, the opening snaps shut, and the apartment vanishes in a blink of stone and light.
He stands beneath enormous trees in the Eternal Corridor, the air hushed and wrong. The path stretches ahead, waiting for him to choose a direction.
He squares his shoulders and starts walking, while the corridor holds its silence around him.
