Nhal and Vetta accompany Slaan into the passage while Mara and Kynes remain behind with the Hall’s restored conduit. Inside, witness-stones awaken one by one.
Brief scenes shimmer across their surfaces: Vetta near the archive, younger in bearing, standing beneath violet wards. Each memory ends just before the unseen arrival is revealed.

I know this chamber’s silence. I do not know who brought me here, or why my memory stops at the threshold.

These memories belong to the conduit, but they are not all Vetta’s. It carries what was witnessed around her.
The braid tightens into two luminous strands, one answering Nhal’s recognition and the other trembling around Vetta’s uncertainty. Farther ahead, another witness-stone begins to glow.
