Cammie sets the unfinished star-shaped player on its stand and gives Rosmira room. Her small forearm scrape has stopped stinging, though the mark remains visible beneath the workshop light.
Rosmira offers the device a different magical touch, gentle and unforced. Her emotional resonance threads through the unfinished setting, and the colored lights answer without taking anything from her.
Cammie Clause
That is it. You are not filling the music with your power; you are giving it room to recognize everyone who listens.
The display blooms into a small constellation. Notes gather into overlapping patterns, then settle into a warm family setting where each listener receives a different color and harmony.
Cammie Clause
You helped me finish the part I kept private. So I want you to have this too.
Cammie opens a concealed compartment beneath the cabinet and reveals his prized virtual reality gear, carefully stored in a padded case. He presents it with nervous pride.
Cammie Clause
This is my favorite world, Rosmira. I want you to experience it, if you are willing. Should we try it together?

SUCCESS (Fair Reasoning, rolled +4)
Rosmira
Yes, let’s try it together.
Cammie’s nervous pride brightens into delight. He opens the padded case, retrieves the virtual reality headset and gloves, and carefully offers the set to Rosmira before preparing his own.
Cammie Clause
Perfect! I’ll keep the first world gentle, and we can change anything that feels uncomfortable.
Rosmira accepts the borrowed gear, its polished surfaces cool against her hands. Cammie adjusts the straps with careful instructions, excitement making his fingers tremble.
Just as the headset begins to glow, a loud bang erupts outside the room. The peppermint door shudders in its frame, and even the workshop’s distant music seems to stop.
Cammie Clause
What was that?
Cammie freezes, visibly shocked, one hand gripping the unfinished player while the virtual reality gear remains safely in Rosmira’s borrowed grasp. Beyond the door, hurried footsteps scatter through the snow.
