A week of mountain mornings has settled the family into easy rhythms. Two days before their human-style Christmas, Kania leads Rosmira, Leon, Nayla, and Jews toward Frosty Slops beneath a bright winter sky.
Helga waits beside the lift in her oil-marked mechanic’s uniform, checking polished skis, snowboards, boots, and padded helmets while Boobie’s distant call echoes across the slopes.

Kania Bloom
Today is about learning, not showing off. Falling is expected, laughing is encouraged, and nobody gets extra points for impressing Rosmira.

Leon Wolfe
That sounds aimed at me, but I accept the challenge. I can be supportive without turning a beginner lesson into a royal competition.

Nayla Iko
Good, because I intend to remember every mistake you make. Kania, show us the safest way down before anyone tries something dramatic.

Jews
I volunteer to judge style from a warm distance. If anyone looks graceful, I shall immediately claim I taught them.
Helga finishes fitting the equipment and gestures toward the gentle practice slope. Kania turns to Rosmira with an inviting smile, holding out two choices: skis or a snowboard.

“ok i have no idea what i am doing but lets see how it goes.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Agility, rolled -2)

Rosmira chooses the skis, and Kania secures the bindings before guiding her onto the gentle practice slope. Snow stretches bright and forgiving beneath them.
Kania demonstrates a careful wedge turn, then waits below with both arms ready. Rosmira pushes off, her balance uncertain as the skis begin sliding.

Rosmira
The skis move faster than my feet can coordinate.
Rosmira lowers her center of gravity, follows Kania’s shouted cues, and completes the turn. The motion carries her safely to the flat stopping area.

Kania Bloom
You did it! That was a real turn, not a lucky straight-line escape. Now breathe before your legs decide to resign.
Her success costs her a clumsy fall at the finish. One ski twists aside, and Rosmira lands hard on her padded hip, leaving a sore bruise beneath the gear.

Leon Wolfe
That looked painful, but you stayed with it. I am impressed, and I promise not to turn this into a competition.
“Thankx leon , Jews i heard that giggle. yall get your butts down here too!”
SUCCESS (Legendary Conversation, rolled +0)

Rosmira
Thanks, Leon. Jews, I heard that giggle. You and the others, get your butts down here too!
Leon offers Rosmira his hand while Kania steadies the loose ski. Above them, Jews laughs brightly, and Nayla gives an amused snort.

Jews
Caught red-handed, darling. Very well, I shall descend and demonstrate truly terrible elegance.

Nayla Iko
I am coming too. Leon, do not rescue her before she gets to celebrate that turn.
Jews and Nayla push off from the upper edge, moving cautiously through the powder. Their mismatched rhythm sends them wobbling together toward the practice slope.

Kania Bloom
Keep your knees soft, everyone! Wedge to slow down, and aim for the flat space beside Rosmira.
Leon guides Rosmira upright without pulling her beyond her balance. The others reach the flat safely, gathering around her with laughter, snow-dusted gear, and renewed enthusiasm.
“Look yall saw my world we dont have snow. While speaking Rose sees a little kid succeeding in the baby slop she just failed.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Conversation, rolled -3)

Rosmira
Y'all saw my world. We don't have snow.
Rosmira gestures toward the glittering slopes, then winces as her bruised hip protests beneath the padded gear. One ski slips sideways, forcing Leon to steady her again.
At the baby slope, a small child, a young human girl with a round brown face and two dark braids, in a bright red snowsuit and oversized blue helmet completes a careful wedge turn, stopping neatly beside a row of soft markers.

Kania Bloom
That is an excellent observation, Rosmira. Also, that child has now beaten all of us at the most important skill: stopping without falling.

Jews
Darling, your world may lack snow, but apparently this one has tiny athletic judges waiting to humble us.

Nayla Iko
The child earned that victory. Rosmira, let your hip rest before you attempt another run.

Leon Wolfe
She made the turn, and everyone saw it. We can call the bruise a battle scar and take a warm break.
“Ok ros trys again seeing the group trying to baby her on the first slop”
SUCCESS (Legendary Agility, rolled +4)
Helga brings Rosmira a freshly checked pair of skis and tightens the bindings over her boots. Leon, Jews, Nayla, and Kania gather below, trying not to hover.
Rosmira pushes off again. This time her knees soften, her weight settles, and the skis answer each careful shift instead of sliding away from her.

Kania Bloom
That is it! Look ahead, keep your shoulders loose, and let the skis carry you through the turn.
Rosmira links two clean wedge turns, then glides steadily across the practice slope and stops upright in the flat area, snow sparkling around her boots.

Leon Wolfe
That was excellent. No rescue needed, and I am officially retiring the battle-scar commentary.

Nayla Iko
I saw every turn. You earned the right to choose whether we celebrate or try the slope again.
The small child points toward Rosmira with open admiration. Helga grins and reveals the cleared beginner route reaches a sheltered overlook, now available for Rosmira’s next run.
