Leon keeps Rosmira supported beside him, while Jews, Nayla, and Kania gather close. Plates arrive quickly, and relief softens every tired face around the table.
Leon
Eat first, everyone. Especially you, Rosmira. The mountain has taken enough from us today.
LingLing sits with Helga, Angust, and Juliet near the hearth, recounting how she sheltered Rosmira. Their welcome draws shy laughter and grateful nods.
Juliet
Anyone who opens her home during a blizzard is welcome at our table. LingLing, you must tell us everything over cocoa.
Rathem claims a separate seat by the window, absorbed in his board and pieces. He barely glances over as the reunited family shares food, warmth, and affectionate teasing.
Nayla
Rosmira, when you are comfortable, tell us what you want after dinner. A bath, a bed, or perhaps one more cup of cocoa?
