Rosmira drops out of the portal in a wash of cold rain and pale light. The opening snaps shut behind her, leaving only the hiss of wet pavement and the electric buzz of distant traffic.
She stands in a narrow alley in Japan, brick walls slick with runoff, a neon sign bleeding pink and blue over puddles at the mouth of the lane. The air tastes like ozone and city rain, sharp and clean.

Rosmira
Human air... colder than Dimmerra.
The return pass warms against her pocket, proof the way back is still hers. Somewhere beyond the alley, a motorcycle hum passes, then fades.

The Stranger
Hey, are you alright? You look like you fell out of nowhere.
At the alley mouth, a local bystander pauses under the neon glow, umbrella tilted in one hand, gaze fixed on Rosmira with wary curiosity. The city waits around them, bright and unknowable.

“Offer a polite, vague nod and turn away to blend into the city crowd forcing wings and tails to vanish”
SUCCESS (Fair Agility, rolled +0)

Rosmira gives the stranger a small, polite nod, then turns her shoulder to the alley as if she belongs here. Her wings fold out of sight, and the long sweep of her tail slips away from view with a practiced ease.
She steps out of the puddle and toward the neon mouth of the lane, rain beading on her sleeves while the city noise swells around her.

The Stranger
Oh. Right, sorry. I did not mean to startle you.
The Stranger stays by the entrance, umbrella angled aside, watching Rosmira vanish into the flow of foot traffic beyond the alley.
For one clean breath, she blends into the crowd. Then a thin shiver crawls over her skin, the kind that says something nearby has noticed her, even if it has not put a name to her yet.
The neon reflects in a shop window ahead, and in it Rosmira catches a brief wrongness, a searching pressure moving through the street like a scent on the rain.
