A Tense Encounter at Pearls Bar

Pearls Bar hums with low music and polished glass. Rosmira slips inside from the rain-damp doorway, and the room’s attention slides over her without quite catching. Darath sits in a velvet booth near the back, one hand resting on a crystal tumbler, eyes fixed like a blade.

At the bar, a new face turns on her, a bartender in a neat black vest and rolled sleeves. He wipes a glass once, then again, studying Rosmira with calm curiosity.

Mika

Mika

You look like you missed your reservation, or you are pretending not to have one.

Rosmira

Rosmira

The booth in the back is the danger point.

Darath’s gaze flicks toward Rosmira, then to the bartender, then back again. His expression does not soften, but his posture opens by a fraction, as if he is deciding whether to invite trouble or enjoy it.

Darath

Darath

If she is here for me, let her speak plainly.

Mika sets the glass down and gives Rosmira a small, practical nod, silently offering the bar as cover if she wants it. Around them, the booth’s curtain shifts, and the room waits for her next move.

Keep Rosmira unnoticed in Pearls Bar

i sit at the bar and order a shot and think i need to find Leon we got separated while running i hope he wasnt caught.

SUCCESS (Fair Conversation, rolled +1)

A Tense Encounter at Pearls Bar

Rosmira slides onto a barstool instead of choosing the booth, putting polished wood between herself and Darath. The room keeps breathing around her in low music and clinking glass.

Rosmira

Rosmira

A shot, please. And... have you seen Leon Wolfe?

Mika

Mika

Not tonight. A man with your timing would be hard to miss, though.

Mika sets a shot glass down and reaches for a bottle, his tone easy but his eyes sharp with interest. Darath watches over the rim of his tumbler, more still now, like he is listening for the answer he did not ask for.

Rosmira

Rosmira

Leon and I got separated while running.

Mika

Mika

Dark hair, foreign accent, looked like he was trying not to stare at anyone? If that is your friend, he left a few minutes before you came in.

The shot lands in front of Rosmira with a quiet tap. Mika leans one elbow on the bar, keeping his voice low as the booth curtain stirs behind her.

Darath

Darath

If you are looking for someone, I suggest you choose your companions more carefully.

rosmira snaps her head to see who is talking about the guy who helped her out.

SUCCESS (Legendary Perception, rolled +0)

A Tense Encounter at Pearls Bar

Rosmira snaps her head toward the voice, and the booth finally comes into full view. Darath is the one speaking, one hand still around his glass, the other resting easy against the seat as if he expected her to turn.

Darath

Darath

There you are. That look says you heard me.

Mika pauses behind the bar, bottle in hand, watching the exchange without moving in. The shifting curtain behind Darath settles.

Rosmira

Rosmira

Darath. Not Leon.

Darath

Darath

If you are being followed, it is usually wiser to notice who notices you first.

A faint scent of wet fur drifts through the bar, thin as a memory, and several nearby patrons keep talking as if they have not noticed it at all.

Mika

Mika

If you want to keep that seat, stay calm. Someone at the door just changed their mind about coming in.

rosmira didnt notice before but thinking darth body gives off the vibes of the dead and what did he say about leon?!

SUCCESS (Legendary Perception, rolled +0)

A Tense Encounter at Pearls Bar

Rosmira studies Darath with a sidelong glance, and the wrongness of him clicks into place. His stillness feels practiced, too quiet for a breathing man, like the bar’s lights are borrowing shape from a corpse that forgot to lie down.

Rosmira

Rosmira

He feels dead.

Darath’s smile thins as if he catches the realization on her face. At the same time, the faint wet-fur scent sharpens near the entrance, and the room’s casual noise tightens around it.

Rosmira

Rosmira

What did you mean about Leon?

Darath

Darath

I meant he leaves a trail worth following, and someone here is good at following.

Mika

Mika

Rosmira, the door just opened. If you want to stay unnoticed, move like you belong.

A couple by the entrance turns in unison, drawn by the wrong scent, and attention starts to spread through the bar like spilled ink.

bar keep where is your restroom i have to go

SUCCESS (Fair Conversation, rolled +0)

A Tense Encounter at Pearls Bar
Rosmira

Rosmira

Where is your restroom? I need a minute.

Mika

Mika

Back hall, left door. Go now, and keep your head down.

Mika slides a hand under the counter and flips a small sign to closed for a heartbeat, just enough to pull a thin curtain of normalcy over the bar.

Darath’s gaze follows Rosmira, then cuts away as if he decides not to stop her, which is somehow worse than being blocked.

The couple by the door whisper to each other and drift aside, while the wet-fur scent hangs in the entrance like something waiting to choose a shape.

Mika nods once toward the back hall, his expression saying hurry before the room remembers you.

i slowly walk to the back to the rest room changing my scent into more a achohol scent and disappear iv lived 1000 years i still got tricks up my sleeves

SUCCESS (Fair Agility, rolled +1)

A Tense Encounter at Pearls Bar

Rosmira takes the back hall at an easy pace, and the sharp edge of alcohol starts to cling to her in the air, replacing the telltale sweetness she carries with something louder and more ordinary.

Mika

Mika

Good, keep moving. If anyone asks, she just needs the restroom.

The nearest patrons barely look up as she passes, the path already open for her, their attention sliding off her like rain off glass.

Darath

Darath

Hah. That is better. At least now you smell like trouble anyone can recognize.

Rosmira reaches the restroom door without being stopped. The wet-fur scent thins behind her, dulled under the heavier bite of the new cover.

Rosmira

Rosmira

The hallway is clear.

From the bar, Mika keeps watch, and Darath’s smile lingers toward the corridor like a challenge waiting to be answered.
