Rosmira, Leon, and Jews step from the service corridor into Chi Tower’s marble lobby. The polish is dazzling, but the fresh smear near the back hall still cuts through the luxury like a wound. Guests cluster in nervous knots, whispering about a shadow near the elevators.

Leon Wolfe
That scent is still here. If Darath is behind this, I want proof.

Jews
If he is, he is not alone. Darath does not like to dirty his hands unless someone useful is doing it for him.

Rosmira
Jews might know more than she says.
At the front desk, the Clerk keeps smoothing papers with shaking hands, trying to calm panicked guests without looking toward the elevator bank. He glances up when Rosmira approaches, and his expression turns even paler.

Clerk
I, um, can help with service, but I have not seen the person everyone is asking about.
The lobby hushes, waiting. Leon stays close at Rosmira’s side, while Jews watches the guests, the elevators, and the Clerk all at once. Whatever is stalking this tower, the next answer likely starts with the last person who saw it.

Jews
Ask him about recent visitors, Rosmira. If anyone can name the hunter or the one feeding him information, it is the man behind that desk.

“well this is werewolf territory so it wouldnt be hard to assume it was them. But them would Darath really wrork with the very thing he hunts”

Rosmira
Rosmira asks if the recent visitors included a werewolf, and whether Darath would really work with one if he is the hunter.

Clerk
The Clerk swallows hard, then nods toward the rear corridor. A broad-shouldered guest in a dark jacket came through with a man in a gray coat, and they kept asking about elevator access and private floors.

Clerk
He lowers his voice. The gray-coated one had that same sharp scent people keep mentioning, but the other, the one everyone calls a werewolf, was not scared of him. They looked like they were working together.

Jews
Jews lets out a small, knowing hum. That sounds like Darath if he wants somebody else to do the unpleasant part.
The Clerk fumbles open a drawer and pulls out a guest log sheet, then points at a smudged entry near the bottom. Beside the time stamp, there is a torn foil card with Darath's name half-visible, tucked under the paper like an afterthought.

Leon Wolfe
Leon leans in, reading it with a tight jaw. So we have a name, and we have company. That is better than guessing.

Clerk
He looks from Rosmira to the desk phone, anxious but compliant. They went up to the private floors ten minutes ago, and if you want the exact room, I can tell you before security notices I helped.
