The spectral sparrows hover over the line of black dust, their violet wings stirring no air. Beyond the threshold, the concealed passage descends into old darkness.

Tarin stayed below to watch the lower ravine. He will not follow unless danger becomes immediate. I am here because Hadrik’s trail is mine to understand.
Seren keeps several paces from the dust and studies the threshold without touching it. Bone-white motes glimmer beyond, then fade beneath the sparrows’ circling light.

Veyra taught Hadrik to make routes that survived pursuit. If this was his work, the obvious path may be bait, and the safe path may look like a mistake.

If Veyra’s people followed him here, they may have left watchers, false turns, or warnings meant only for those who know his hand. I cannot tell which from the dust.
One sparrow dips toward the black line, recoils without touching it, and settles above a narrow gap in the stone. The passage waits, silent and unclaimed.

Seren Vale
Ask what you need before we proceed. I will answer plainly about Hadrik, Veyra, or the danger, and I will not mistake following a trail for trusting it.
