Shattering the Marsh's Necrotic Seal

Above the frozen marsh, Zhurrem hangs in the air with Kamakulzar clinging to his back. The black veins below writhe in the exposed gaps, and the cold that blankets the land feels less like weather and more like a lid forced down over rot.

Kamakulzar’s spell has torn the surface open. Now the hidden foulness surges in the brush and ice, flinching under holy light as if it remembers being hunted before.

Zhurrem’s bronze bloodline flares again, and his dark fur turns to a conduit of blinding radiance. He spots the pulse in the corruption and wheels toward it with sudden, exact certainty.

He releases a massive burst of dispelling light. The marsh’s gathered dark shudders, cracks, and tears apart in streaks, leaving only hissing vapor and ragged ice where the taint had clung.

With the corruption broken, the truth snaps into place. The freezing cold was never the cause, it was a desperate seal, the land’s failing attempt to hold the necrotic thing in check.

The air clears in a sudden, bitter rush. Beneath them, one last black vein twitches at the edge of the torn marsh, still alive somewhere deeper down.

Shattering the Marsh's Necrotic Seal

Kamakulzar lifts his smoking hand and hurls a tight ball of fire at the last writhing vein.

The flame hits cleanly, and the black thread bursts open in a sharp bloom of heat and ash.

Below, the torn marsh flashes white-orange, then dulls to steam as the rot is burned out of the exposed seam.

For a breath, the whole frozen expanse goes still. The seal is broken, the corruption is burning back, and the land lies open to whatever has been feeding on it.

There. It answers the strike. That is the thing beneath it.

Zhurrem banks hard in the air, head turning toward the deeper dark beyond the steam, while the heavy, expectant chill below seems to lean upward.
