Tuiwen remains hidden beside the freed Woodman Patrol while Eldred watches from the fir-shadowed shelf. Ahead, the illusory Woodmen flee toward the marked stones.
Eldred
They are nearly at the mark. Wait until the last scout passes the shelf, then we close the road behind them.
The Orcs pursue in a stretched line, weapons ready, while the false Woodmen stumble convincingly between the stones. Their attention fixes wholly on the fleeing figures.
Behind the captors’ abandoned hollow, the Woodman Patrol crouches in silence. The Lean Beasts remain motionless among the roots, ears angled toward the approaching danger.
Eldred
Now. The first has crossed the mark, and the rest are following. Give the signal when you are ready.
The shelves wait around the pursuing band: concealed defenders beyond the western road, the freed patrol behind the stone, and living roots ready to answer Tuiwen’s will.

Capture the pursuing Orc band
“She gives the signal and commands the plants to entangle the orcs.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Magic, rolled -1)
Tuiwen gives the signal. Her will enters the living roots beneath the marked stones, and they surge upward in green coils around the pursuing Orcs.
The first scout is seized at the ankles; runners catch the others across the knees and waists. Weapons drop as the plants entangle the entire band without crushing them.
Eldred
Hold the line! They are bound, and the road is ours.
The false Woodmen fade among the stones. Concealed defenders rise beyond the western road, while the freed Woodman Patrol moves from cover to secure the prisoners.
The Lean Beasts remain calm among the roots, untouched by the spell. Their former handlers struggle uselessly as the living tangle pins every escape route.
Eldred
A clean capture. No scout will return to Dol Guldur with the settlement’s secrets.
