The clear watercourse suddenly thins. Dark veins spread beneath the sealed heartstone, and the dragon lowers its healed wing as a deep pulse rolls through the chamber.

The Woodland courier circles the basin without stepping into its flowing channel. Fresh silver runes emerge beneath the water, converging at a second pressure point near the chamber wall.

The pulse comes again, deeper this time. Hairline shadows crawl along the ancient bands, while the dragon braces its claws beside the basin and waits for Tuiwen’s examination.

Cleansing Light gathers faintly around the sealed heartstone, revealing two pressures: one beneath the binding and one beneath the basin. The ward remains unbroken, but its balance is failing.

Tuiwen raises the Elven blade beside the basin and casts revealing light. Cleansing Light passes through water, stone, and binding without harming the ward, while Sovereign Heritage gives the spell quiet authority.

Eyes of the Unseen separates the chamber’s layers. The light shows one pressure beneath the heartstone and another beneath the basin, connected by a narrow silver channel hidden inside the rock.

The revealed pattern settles into certainty: the ward is not broken, but its two pressure points are coupled. A narrow, untainted relief channel lies behind the chamber wall, leading away from the spring.

Tuiwen examines the silver channel through the stone, comparing its flow with the two pressures. Eyes of the Unseen separates every layer, revealing a clean path that bypasses the heartstone and spring.

Her Elven blade follows the channel’s concealed join. Architectural Intuition shows a counterweighted stone that will lift outward, not collapse inward, if released at the marked seam.

Oath-Bound restraint forbids severing the coupled ward or forcing the passage. Instead, Tuiwen angles the blade into the lawful catch, and the channel opens cleanly behind the chamber wall.
