The concealed stream-path emerges from Fangorn beneath golden leaves. Ahead, a timber watchpost stands between ancient trunks, where two Galadhrim wardens lower their bows toward Tuiwen and Eldred.
The elder warden is a tall elf man in green and silver, his pale hair braided with leaves. Beside him, a young adult elf woman watches sharply beneath a russet hood.
the elder Galadhrim warden
Halt. State your names and purpose. Why does a wounded princess approach through Fangorn when the safer roads lie open?
the young Galadhrim warden
Keep your hands visible. We will inspect Thranduil’s authority before either of you crosses into the Golden Wood.
Eldred stops beside Tuiwen, his posture guarded but restrained. The silver travel writ remains intact beneath her cloak, bearing Gandalf’s mark and Galadriel’s promise of passage.
Eldred
She is Tuiwen, daughter of Thranduil, and I am Eldred of the Woodmen, declared Elf Friend. We followed the forest route to avoid Saruman’s eyes.
The elder warden’s gaze settles on Tuiwen’s bandaged shoulder, then returns to the hidden writ. Beyond the post, golden branches stir without wind as the wardens await her answer.

Bring the travel writ to Lothlórien’s wardens
“"I think you will find our papers in order," she says, presenting the pass signed by Galadriel. "Eldred was declared an Elf Friend by Thranduil and Galadriel both, so you might want to pass that around."”

Tuiwen
I think you will find our papers in order. Eldred was declared an Elf Friend by Thranduil and Galadriel both, so you may pass them around.
Tuiwen draws the silver travel writ from beneath her cloak and presents it. Galadriel’s mark gleams beside Gandalf’s, while Thranduil’s authority is recorded beside Eldred’s name.
the elder Galadhrim warden
The writ is genuine, and the Lady’s promise is clear. We will honor it. Eldred of the Woodmen, you may pass as an Elf Friend.
The elder warden accepts the document and hands it to his companion. She studies the seals, then looks from Eldred to Tuiwen with softened suspicion.
the young Galadhrim warden
Thranduil’s declaration stands beside Galadriel’s own. Your companion is under lawful protection, and neither of you approaches these borders as an enemy.
the elder Galadhrim warden
Lower your bows. Enter beneath the Golden Wood’s protection, Princess Tuiwen and Eldred Elf Friend. We will guide you to the wardens within.
Both bows descend. The timber barrier opens, revealing a golden path beneath the ancient trees, and the wardens step aside to grant them passage into Lothlórien.
