The rear dock spills into humid night, sodium lamps buzzing over wet concrete. A second Federal Agent stands by the exit lane, coat dark with rain, staring at the open door.

What is going on in there? Intake just tripped a lockdown, and I get called out to a dock at midnight.

My client is under federal overreach and needs immediate protective transfer. House arrest at my home is the least disruptive lawful option.

Amilia squares her shoulders, silver skin flashing. She keeps herself between Sally and the sedan, speaking fast, precise, and calm while the agent sizes up the two of them.

The Federal Agent

The Federal Agent

A prison breach, a lawyer, and a superhuman with no active warrant in hand. This is turning into paperwork I do not want.

Inside the prison, a distant alarm stutters and fades. The dock gate remains open, and the agent's hand drifts off his holster as he considers the offer.

If you let Sally walk into another Department cage, you are helping them bury evidence. Let her go with me, and I will file the rest tonight.

Sally leaves Washington D.C. super human prison behind and arrives at Amilia's home.

I let Amilia take me home

Amilia's home is quiet, warmer than the dock, with rain ticking softly at the windows and city light leaking through thin curtains. Sally is inside at last, the front door shut behind her, while Amilia guides her toward the living room and starts setting the pace of the room with brisk, practiced movements.

Sit where you can breathe. I am getting water, and then I want your version in order.

Amilia places a legal pad on the coffee table, already uncapped, and flips it open beside a neat stack of case notes. A red folder lands on top, marked with tabs and underlines, and she keeps one eye on Sally while she works.

The room feels safe enough to notice things in.

Sally settles in without argument, and the decision settles with her too, the dock and the agent left behind as a closed door in another life. Amilia nods once, as if that answer is enough for now, and her pen hovers over the page.

Start wherever it matters most, and do not leave out the parts that got you hurt.

She says it like a professional question, but her attention stays fixed and human, waiting for Sally to begin while the legal pad remains blank and ready.

I explain everything to her. Than I ask her if she thinks I have a shot of winning in court?

Sally tells Amilia everything, the lab, the file trail, the arrests, the drive, the names, and the way each door opens onto a deeper one. The words come out steady enough to keep moving, even when the facts do not.

She writes as Sally speaks, quick and exact, pausing only to mark a date or underline a name.

Amilia does not interrupt. She only slides the water closer, turns a page, and keeps the red folder open like she is building a bridge out of paper.

You have a clean chain of unlawful custody, coercion, and concealment. That is not nothing.

She leans back a fraction, studying Sally over the legal pad, her expression tightening with concern instead of doubt.

On the facts alone, you have a real shot. Not a simple one, not a fast one, but a real one.

Her pen taps once against the page, then she writes again, faster now, as rain murmurs at the window and the room stays sealed against everything outside.

If I take this forward, I need every detail in order. Can you keep going?
