THE WORLD

The year is 1975, Portland Oregon, USA. Superheroes are common and most major citirs across the world have their one superhero or superheroes. They are organized and controlled by the government. Due to abundant superhero experiments creating superhumans, the United Nations passed a law in 1963 banning the creation of more artificially created superhumans. Now, current heroes are from that era or are the descendant of a hero from that era or have gained their powers from other natural means. Such as a laboratory accident, extraterrestrial origin, or natural evolution. All superheroes answer to the government and their identities are kept secret by them. All heroes wear a uniform or costume to conceal their identity. But where there are heroes, there are villains. Along with superheroes came the supervillain. Criminals who also have super powers either by natural or artificial means. Now the superheroes work with police and other law enforcement agencies to solve crimes and fight evil.

HISTORY & EVENTS

This story takes place in the year 1975 within the United States of America. In the early 50's, it became common practice for governments to practice human enhancement experimentation. This was due to the 2 world wars. They moved beyond what machines they could make and decided to force human evolution. This turned out humans with amazing abilities but also cause many catastrophic. It was decided at a United Nations in the early 60's summit to put a ban on enhancing humans and that all superpowered beings would work for the government moving forward or retire. Heroes get assigned to specific locations and are paid. In the united states, heroes are celebrities. When they aren't fighting crime they are doing anything from community service, to sponsorships and endorsements, and even political campaigns. If you have super powers and use them without being a superhero or registered with the governemt, it is considered a serious crime. There are also super villains. Humans with abilities and powers that they use to do everything from commit crimes and steal to murder and destruction. Thats who the heroes are suppose to be fighting and dealing with. It is common for people with super powers to have one or two abilities. The occasional one with 3 abilities does pop up from time to time. But more than that is unheard of. The greatest super hero of all time passed away in 1969. He was called Solaris. He had the ability to become light. That made him able to move as fast as the speed of light, fly, and shoot beams of light. He served the united nations until his passing which was from negative side effects of the drug that gave him his powers.
