Devlan keeps his pistol steady, feet planted wide beside the crooked desk. The courier swallows hard, one hand clamped to his bruised shoulder, eyes flicking from Sally to the door.

Fine, fine. Blaze is moving hardware through three drop points tonight. Front loads, then south to the docks. I am talking, so do not shoot.
Sally has the room’s attention now, with the file spilled across the desk and the red alarm glow cutting hard lines over every face. Outside, heavy tires skid to a stop, loud enough to rattle the window glass.

Enough to make this ugly. Blaze sent a cleanup car. Maybe two.
The courier lifts his chin, trying to look bolder than he feels. Devlan shifts one step to cut off the alley side, never lowering the gun. The dossier on Blaze lies open between them like bait.

Sally slips through the wall in a cold blink of instinct, and the office noise drops away behind her. She comes out behind the brick shell facing the street, where red alarm light leaks through the rain and a cleanup sedan idles at the curb.
Two more vehicles sit nose to tail behind it, dark windows beaded with water. One door is open, and men in gray coats are half out, scanning the building with practiced speed.
Sally
Three cars. They are here for the dossier.
Her shoulder stings where the frame caught her earlier, and the cut pulls as she leans for a better angle. On the curb, one of the gray-coated men snaps a hand toward the office door.
The Courier
They brought backup fast. If Blaze wanted the papers, that means he wants what is inside them gone or moving.
Through the open sedan door, Sally catches a hardcase on the floorboard, stamped with a fresh seal tag and wedged beside a black folder. The cars are the source, and the route is plain enough to see now: the gear is in the cleanup convoy.
