Thadeus and Elizabeth are already pulling away from the diner when Marla’s call breaks through the car’s hum. Her voice is tight, but steady.

Marla Brewer
You need to come back to The Hideout. We have a surprise guest.

Marla Brewer
Victor Hale is here, sitting at the table with me and Elias. He is talking, and it is all about the Stars of Divinity.
That lands hard. The diner, the gunfire, the alley, all of it narrows into one clear direction, back to the bunker, back to the source.

Marla Brewer
He says they are moving through Knight's End already. If we want to beat them to the next step, we do it now.
Elizabeth is already reaching for the wheel, her jaw set. Thadeus turns the car with the road ahead suddenly feeling shorter than it should.

Elias
Thadeus, hurry. He is calm, but I do not like how much he seems to know.
The line crackles once, then holds. The Hideout is close, and Victor’s voice can be heard faintly in the background, still talking.

“With Elizabeth driving, Thadeus's thoughts return to Peacebringer. Thadeus looks to Elizabeth, "We've got to stop at home first. I left Peacebringer in the basement." Elizabeth nods, and they race back to Thadeus's home.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Agility, rolled +1)

Thadeus catches Elizabeth’s eye and says they need to stop at home first, to grab Peacebringer from the basement.

Elizabeth Bathory
She gives a sharp nod and swings the car toward the suburbs without a word.
The wet streets blur by as the car cuts through Detroit, faster now, the house pulling into view ahead of them.

Thadeus Jovanović
The basement.
Elizabeth brakes in front of Thadeus’s house and kills the engine, already looking toward the dark front windows.
Thadeus is out of the car in one motion, crossing the driveway and taking the steps to the door with Elizabeth right behind him.
Inside, the house is quiet and still, until the basement door comes into view and the familiar weight of what was left there settles back in.

Elias
The phone crackles again from the line as the bunker call waits, and his voice tightens. Hurry back. Victor is still talking.
“Quickly, Thadeus finds his weapon, Peacebringer, concentrates his energy to convert the weapon into a fountain pen, and tucks it in his pants pocket. Thadeus scurried back into the car, with Elizabeth racing towards The Hideout”
SUCCESS (Legendary Agility, rolled +0)

Thadeus slips into the bedroom, takes up Peacebringer, and folds his focus into the weapon until it shrinks into a blue-glowing fountain pen. He pockets it fast, then backs toward the hall as Elizabeth moves for the stairs and the open way out.

Thadeus Jovanović
Pen in pocket.
He crosses the threshold and reaches the car before the next ring of the phone can become another problem. The engine waits, the rain-dark driveway shines under the porch light, and the house falls behind him.

Elizabeth Bathory
I have the wheel. Go.
Thadeus drops into the passenger seat, the door thudding shut at his side. Elizabeth is already turning the car back toward the road, her hands steady on the wheel.
The front windows of Thadeus's House slide past in the rearview as they pull away. The basement, the quiet hall, and the unanswered call all recede at once, replaced by motion and wet streetlight.

Elias
Victor says the Stars of Divinity are moving through Knight's End. He is still talking like he knows the next step.
The warning lands in the cramped car, and the route back to The Hideout feels shorter now. Ahead, the city waits for their answer.

“With no further obstacles in their way, Thadeus and Elizabeth drive to The Hideout. They step outside of the car, but before they go into The Hideout, Elizabeth pushes Thadeus against the car in a moment of intimacy. Elizabeth asks Thadeus, "You've seen all of my powers and strength, how are you not afraid of me?" Thadeus runs his hand through Elizabeth's hair, "Because there's more to you than your inhuman powers. Your heart is human, that's why I could never be afraid of you. It's why I love you." Elizabeth goes beat red, "You always know just what to say Thadeus. I love you too." As they embrace, Marla walks outside and sees the two. Flustered, she shouts, "Can you two hurry up?"”

By the time The Hideout’s lights are ahead of them again, the car has gone quiet except for the tires on wet pavement. Elizabeth shuts off the engine, and for a second neither of them moves.
Outside the bunker door, she catches Thadeus by the front of his coat and eases him back against the car, close enough to feel his breath. Her face is bright with nerves and certainty.

Elizabeth Bathory
You have seen all of my powers and strength, so how are you not afraid of me?

Thadeus Jovanović
Her hair falls warm under his hand.
Thadeus reaches up, fingers sliding through her hair, and the answer comes with the same steady care he has shown her before. Elizabeth flushes red at once, leaning into him as if the words have locked into place.

Thadeus Jovanović
Because there is more to you than your powers. Your heart is human. That is why I could never be afraid of you. It is why I love you.

Elizabeth Bathory
You always know just what to say, Thadeus. I love you too.
They hold each other there a moment longer, wrapped in damp night air and the low hum of the city, until Marla steps out and sees them.

Marla Brewer
Can you two hurry up?
“Thadeus and Elizabeth enter The Hideout”

Thadeus and Elizabeth slip inside The Hideout, letting the bunker’s torn edge fall behind them as Marla’s impatience trails in after them.
The car door thunks shut in the cramped light. Dust still hangs where the bunker door used to be, and the breach yawns open behind the parked vehicle like a wound.

Marla Brewer
Victor says the Stars of Divinity are moving. He is smiling while he says it.
“Inside The Hideout, Thadeus sees Victor Hale. He grabs a chair and sits down next to him. Elias is cleaning up the last of splintered wood on the floor. Thadeus asks Victor, "So I understand there's a lot about the Stars of Divinity you'd like to share with us." Victor replies, "Yes, but to start, I need all of you to know I'm not one of them." Marla looks at him skeptically, but allows him to continue. Victor shares, "When you went to Knight's End, you met a man named Vinnie, correct?" Thadeus slowly nods, "We did, from what we could tell he is the manager." Victor stammers, "Try "was" the manager. After the stunt you pulled, the Stars of Divinity, or SoD, decided to eliminate him, just so had one less lead."”
SUCCESS (Legendary Diplomacy, rolled +2)
Thadeus drags a chair over the broken boards and sits beside Victor, close enough to keep the room honest. Elias keeps sweeping splinters into a dustpan near the rear wall while Marla watches Victor like she expects a hook in every sentence.

Thadeus Jovanović
So I understand there's a lot about the Stars of Divinity you'd like to share with us.

Victor Hale
Yes, but to start, I need all of you to know I am not one of them.

Marla Brewer
Her eyes narrow, skeptical, but she stays quiet and lets him keep talking.

Victor Hale
When you went to Knight's End, you met a man named Vinnie, correct?

Thadeus Jovanović
We did, from what we could tell he is the manager.

Victor Hale
Try was the manager. After the stunt you pulled, the Stars of Divinity decided to eliminate him, just so they had one less lead.

“Thadeus looks firmly at Victor, "Pull down your hoodie, we need to see your face." Victor sighs, but complies. What appears out the darkness is a tired looking man, with a scruffy face looking like he hasn't shaved in weeks. Victor's eyes meet Thadeus's, "There, can you trust me now?" Thadeus responds, "I can feel bad for you, but you haven't done enough to earn our trust. Elizabeth, Marla and Elias nod in unison. Victor sinks into the chair, as if trying to disappear.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +1)
Victor drags the hood down, and the bunker light catches a tired, scruffy face that looks worn thin by bad sleep and worse choices.

Victor Hale
There. Can you trust me now?

Thadeus Jovanović
I can feel bad for you, but you have not done enough to earn our trust.
Marla gives one sharp nod. Elias nods too, more reluctant, while Elizabeth stays still and watches Victor like she is measuring how much of him is real.
Victor sinks deeper into the chair, shoulders folding inward as if he could disappear into the cracked vinyl.

Victor Hale
Fair enough. Then listen carefully. The Stars of Divinity do not just use Knight's End, they route people through it, names through it, and money through it.

Victor Hale
Vinnie was one of the clean faces. When he got cut out, the people above him moved faster, because they think you are already behind the curtain.
The room goes quiet except for the sweep of Elias's broom and the faint hum of the blown-open breach.
“Can Thadeus sense Victor is telling the truth about SoD?”
YES (Likely, rolled 20)

Thadeus Jovanović
His pulse is steady, and his eyes do not dart. He is not lying.

Victor Hale
They are moving the final shipment through the club tonight. If you want to stop them, you have to hit the distribution hub before the sun comes up.
Victor leans forward, his hands trembling slightly as he points toward the map Marla has pinned to the wall, his gaze locking onto Thadeus with a desperate, genuine intensity.
“Thadeus whispers something to Elizabeth, Victor watching with concern. Elizabeth's eyes light up, and she nods in agreement. Thadeus turns back to Victor, "Okay, if you're being genuine about this move at Knight's End, you'd be willing to help us, right?" Victor panics,"Wha...what do you mean help?" Thadeus grins, allowing the silence in the room to take over.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Diplomacy, rolled -1)
Victor blinks at the request, his shoulder line tightening as the bunker hushes around him. Marla stops moving. Elias looks up from the scattered gear. Elizabeth stays still at Thadeus's side, watching Victor wait for the answer.

Thadeus Jovanović
If you're genuine about this move at Knight's End, you'd help us.

Victor Hale
Help? I mean, yes. I can get you in the flow, tell you who takes the boxes, who signs, who pretends not to see.
He swallows hard and points again at the map, but this time his finger trails farther than the club. It lands on a route Marla has not marked, a warehouse line feeding the same network.

Victor Hale
Knight's End is the face. The final shipment moves through there, then out to the distribution site before dawn. If you hit the site, you hit the whole chain.

Thadeus Jovanović
Then show us where it goes.

Victor Hale
I will. But if I'm wrong, I don't walk away from this either.
Elizabeth gives Thadeus a small nod, eyes bright with approval. The map becomes a target instead of a mystery, and Victor stays leaning over it, fully inside the conversation now.
“Thadeus looks over to Marla, seeing she is already making notes on her map about this other location Victor pointed out. Turning back to Victor, Thadeus, "You haven't told us about the Stars of Divinity directly, just what shipments they are making. What is this organization exactly? Are they a cult, and is this Donny Ramirez their leader?"”
SUCCESS (Legendary Diplomacy, rolled +1)
Thadeus glances to Marla, and she is already scribbling fresh notes beside the route Victor pointed out, her pen moving fast over the map. He turns back as Victor straightens from the table, still pinned by everyone’s attention.

Thadeus Jovanović
You have not told us what the Stars of Divinity are. Are they a cult, and is Donny Ramirez their leader?

Victor Hale
Yeah. Cult fits. They dress it up like business, but it is loyalty, fear, and money under the same roof.

Victor Hale
Donny Ramirez is the name out front. He talks like he owns the room, and people let him. That is how he leads.
Marla writes Donny Ramirez at the top of the page and underlines it hard. Elias exhales through his nose, the name landing like a bad confirmation.

Victor Hale
The real circle is smaller than the club. Ramirez fronts it, the Stars move the product, and the people at the warehouse answer to that same chain.
Elizabeth watches Thadeus, then Victor, with a look that says the shape of the enemy is finally clear. The bunker feels less like a hiding place now and more like a map with the center marked.
