Poppy parts the wet undergrowth and slows at the edge of a hidden hollow. Ahead, crude hide tents ring low fires, and goblins and orcs move between racks of tools, smoke, and drying furs.

Poppy
There. A greenskin camp. My family is in there, goblins, orcs, ogres. They can shelter us.
Vael stays close at her shoulder, his skin carrying a thin, uneasy warmth. The camp’s firelight catches on him, and the heat haze around his hands shivers brighter for a heartbeat.

Poppy
The camp is close enough to reach before night deepens.

Vael
If your kin turn me away, we keep moving. If they take us in, I will not forget it.
A broad-shouldered sentry near the nearest fire looks up, squinting into the mist. More camp eyes start to turn toward the treeline, some curious, some wary, as Poppy and Vael stand at the threshold between refuge and alarm.

“I take Vael's hand and step into the clearing, telling the sentry that i wish to speak to the war chief, Clutch.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled +0)

Poppy takes Vael’s hand and steps into the firelight. Her boots part the damp grass, and the nearest chatter thins as heads turn her way.

Poppy
I wish to speak to Clutch, the war chief.

The Sentry
Clutch hears plain requests. What kin calls him at this hour?
Vael stays beside her, quiet and watchful, while the sentry studies the pair with the point of his spear lowered but not relaxed.

The Sentry
A stranger in heat, and Poppy at his side. This is either trouble, or family.
A dark tent flap stirs deeper in the hollow, and the firelight catches on a broad shape moving within the camp’s inner ring.
“Is it not greenskin traditional for a daughter to introduce her guy fruends to her father? Thats what im here to do, so please, let us see my father, Clutch.”
SUCCESS (Legendary Willpower, rolled -2)

Poppy lifts her chin and names Clutch as her father, asking to be taken to him as plainly as any daughter bringing a guest home. The sentry’s spear dips a finger’s width, then steadies again.

The Sentry
Bold words. If you mean them, you speak them to Clutch himself.
He turns and gestures them deeper into the hollow. A few camp faces soften, others harden, and Vael keeps close enough that his shoulder nearly brushes Poppy’s.
They pass between hide tents and firepits toward the inner ring. The broad shape inside the central tent stirs, and a low voice answers from within.

Clutch
Who comes to my fire calling me father?
Poppy’s words have carried farther than she likely meant. The nearest onlookers go still, and one elder goblin squints hard at her as if measuring a memory against her face.

The Sentry
She says she is yours, Clutch. And she brings a dragon with her.
Inside the tent, Clutch pushes the flap wider. Firelight catches his massive silhouette as he looks from Poppy to Vael, unreadable for a breath. Then his hand lifts, not yet in welcome, not yet in refusal.
“I give my father a small wave”
SUCCESS (Superb Agility, rolled +1)

Poppy lifts a hand in a small, careful wave, more daughter than stranger. The firelight catches the motion, and a few nearby goblins blink as if they are seeing the shape of her for the first time.

Clutch
...Poppy.
Clutch lowers his raised hand and steps out of the tent flap. His heavy gaze moves over her, then Vael, then back again, as if weighing memory against the living truth before him.

Clutch
You wave like you expect me to answer as father.

Poppy
He knows me.
The sentry’s shoulders ease a fraction. Vael remains close at Poppy’s side, but his posture softens when the camp does not reach for weapons.

Clutch
Come nearer, both of you. Let me look at the pair that walks into my fire without being chased.
A murmur moves through the inner ring, not alarm but curiosity. The nearest faces open by degrees, and the space before Clutch’s fire feels less like a boundary now, more like an invitation.
