The first two trials conclude beneath thunderous acclaim: the Academy of Shared Becoming ranks first, its open-hand emblem raised above the arena. Startled officials turn toward the Crown’s enclosure.
The Tournament Herald
By formal decree, the Crown Combat Crucible is opened. This final determines the tournament’s leading school.
The arena reshapes into concentric wards. The small farmhand steps across the boundary opposite a tall young adult elf man in violet-and-silver University robes, with a lean build, angular face, and pointed ears, his dark braid threaded with copper charms.
The University Duelist
Elian Veyr of the Arcane University. I will test every opening, and honor every choice you make beneath the wards.
Layered sigils bloom around Elian, one spell nested inside another. At the boundary, Seren grips his records while Almira stands near the small farmhand, close enough to guide but not command.
Marra Fen
I will listen for the space between his spells. If I cannot force an opening, I will let one choose me.
The first ward ignites, turning the floor into shifting bands of heat, frost, and cutting wind. Elian’s nested magic advances with merciless precision, and the small farmhand looks toward Almira as the opening bell sounds.
