In an overlooking gallery, the central crystal’s rainbow glow fades below, leaving colored afterimages across the arches. Almira’s numb casting hand rests beside the completed inscription.

I have the routes, the inscriptions, and the crystal’s response copied in separate records. One may be shared freely; the deeper workings require judgment before they are reproduced.
Seren spreads charcoal maps across a stone table, weighting their corners with blank tablets. Below, Hadrik counts sacks, oil lamps, dried meat, and the hours each guard must keep.

Hadrik Pell
Fishing can supply the first visitors, but not a flood of them. We need names, seasons, and a watch at the gate before these halls become a road-house.
He marks the eastern arch, the courtyard, and the safest stair with small knots of twine. Seren sets a clean page beside the maps, leaving its heading unwritten.

We can copy principles, warnings, and proven lessons. We should not copy living patterns, private choices, or any key that lets a reader claim what must remain free.

Then the citadel stays open by invitation, and belongs to no keeper. Let every learner leave with understanding, but leave the doors and living secrets unpossessed.

Prepare the citadel to welcome its first learners
“I draft the first learner charter: invitations, warnings, and a Code that instills honor and respect for freedom. We establish a set of rules to govern the Professors, all knowledge is freely received and released. Not person owns a single piece of knowledge and even the weakest of students have access to the highest level of education”
SUCCESS (Superb Reasoning, rolled +0)

Almira draws fresh vellum beneath the crystal’s fading colors and drafts the first learner charter. Its opening declares that knowledge is received by invitation, tested with care, and released without ownership.
They set down warnings against coercion, concealment, and treating living patterns as property. Every lesson must honor freedom, name its risks plainly, and leave the learner able to refuse.
The Code binds Professors as firmly as students: teach honestly, admit uncertainty, protect the vulnerable, and never reserve understanding for rank, wealth, talent, or favor.

Then the highest chamber cannot become a private inheritance. A novice may ask for its principles, and a Professor must guide them toward understanding rather than guard the door.
Seren copies the clauses into a public record, leaving wide margins for objections and additions. Hadrik reads the charter slowly, one weathered finger following each promise.

Hadrik Pell
Put this plainly at the gate: no student stands beneath another here. Even the weakest may seek the strongest lesson, so long as they honor the freedom within it.
Together they place the completed charter beside the eastern arch, where every entrant will see it before reaching the halls of study. The citadel’s school now has its first law: knowledge is shared, never possessed.
