The Utahraptor snaps its head toward the weakest scent on the dais, clicking in a hard, learned rhythm. It lunges in a blur of green hide and teeth.

Its jaws clamp over the survivor’s face, dragging them down and twisting hard. Blood slicks the stone as the victim jerks, ruined and gushing.

The other refugees shriek and break away from the center, pressing to the walls and the chamber edges. The frost-light above the dais flares brighter, hungry for more of Hhannvis’s strength.

The Wounded Survivor

The Wounded Survivor

No. Not me next. Not here.

Hhannvis is left between the predator and the pulsing seal, with the chamber draining at his back and the survivors trapped in its light.

The raptor rears with the mauled survivor still in reach, then snaps its head toward the wall line, searching for the next scent trail.

Escape with allies

I cast a rope lashed to climb out the ceiling for me and the allies

SUCCESS (Good Athletics, rolled +2)

Hhannvis whips the rope up into the frost-light and hooks it fast to the ceiling seam. The line bites into the ancient stone, then hangs taut above the dais.

He plants one boot, hauls, and the rope answers. The chamber’s glow trembles as his weight shifts the survivors’ attention upward.

Sefru lunges first for the line, dragging a shaken refugee with him. Huryol braces below, arms out, keeping the wall crowd from trampling the climb.

Up, now. Take the rope and do not stop.

The Utahraptor snaps at the movement, but Hhannvis is already pulling the first survivors clear of the dais edge. Pebbles skitter as the blind beast circles beneath them.

One by one, the allies climb into the ceiling cut, leaving the blood-slick floor behind. The exit seam still narrows below, but the group is now above the kill zone.

Hhannvis clears the last grip and looks down from the rope ladder as the raptor paces under him, head lifted, searching. The darkness above the shaft yawns open, waiting for the next move.

Hhannvis hauls one last refugee upward, but the line jerks hard under their weight. The climb stalls, and the ladder sways over the bloodied floor.

The Utahraptor surges beneath them, jaws snapping at the moving rope, but its blind head misses by inches. Pebbles clatter away into the dark.

It is finding the rope by the shake. Cut the sway, or it will climb the sound.

Huryol

There, on the seam, the old braces. I can see a side lip.

Hhannvis shifts his grip and uses the jolt to swing the ladder toward the wall, buying the refugees a steadier path. The beast hesitates below, head tilting toward the new motion.

For a breath, the shaft reveals a narrow maintenance ledge beside the seam, just wide enough for a body to edge along. Above, the exit still tightens.

Move them to the lip. If they cannot climb, they can crawl.

I use all to keep the rope ladder still while i usher them to the ledge

Hhannvis plants himself against the swaying line and bears down with all his weight, forcing the ladder to quiet, but the strain bites back through his arms and shoulders. The rope still shivers. It only shivers less.

He jerks the ladder toward the side lip again, and the nearest refugee starts across on hands and knees, pressed flat to the stone. Below, the blind predator pauses at the change in motion, head angling toward the scrape.

Good, keep it there. Crawl low, one at a time.

Huryol

Its ears are on the seam, not the floor. The ledge is the quiet path.

The ladder slips from perfect stillness, but the side lip answers with a hidden ridge, a shallow groove just inside the wall. The first refugee catches it and gains a crawlway instead of a dangling climb.

Zarona Vos Zhurshitt

There, do you see it? The groove runs under the constriction. Use the wall, not the rope.

Hhannvis finds the opening in the danger at once, the raptor’s search tightening on the rope while the ledge offers a way under its notice. One more body can pass, if they move now, before the seam above bites shut further.
