A deafening arcane boom rolls through the chamber, muffling the shriek of the flyers above. The ceiling splits wider, and a larger body slams the jagged hole from outside.
A dark green dragon head thrusts into view, majestic and raw with power, one talon hooked on the stone lip. Erma stares down into the Pit with ancient, fixed eyes.
Then he kicks free, vanishing upward. Through the breach, Erma and a black dragon twist together in the air, grappling and spinning like a kite dragged by a storm.
The frost-light on Hhannvis’s spear and robes flares sickly bright. It pulses in time with the chamber, not around him, but through him.

Hhannvis
It is drawing from him.
The survivors recoil as the light tightens its rhythm. The chamber holds, but Hhannvis feels the cost, his strength feeding the ward with every pulse.
Sefru looks from the roof breach to Hhannvis’s blazing gear, alarm rising fast. Zarona’s eyes narrow, and the bloodless truth of the blessing lands at once.

“I use Springing Touch to activate the vault closed. Sealed from the rest who failed”
FAILURE (Fair Springing Touch, rolled -1)
Hhannvis drives his spear haft into the glowing boundary line and springs the hidden latch with a sharp twist. The chamber answers with a heavy click, but the floor does not fully seal. The line only brightens, then shudders under his hand.

Hhannvis
It resists.
The sorting dais starts to rise, not to close the vault, but to lock the accepted side in place. Behind it, the passage mouths remain open for a breath too long, as if the sanctuary is choosing who gets to belong.

Zarona Vos Zhurshitt
It is taking your force, not your command.

Sefru
If it finishes that cycle, the wrong ones stay in the chamber.
The Dirty Woman stumbles back from the dais edge, palms out, as the floor stones hum against her boots. The Wounded Survivor braces beside the line, staring at Hhannvis and the opening with frightened hope.
Above them, the jagged breach flashes with wingbeat shadows. The siphon in Hhannvis’s gear flares again, and the chamber’s glow tightens around his frame while the doors remain stubbornly unfinished.
“I command it closed with a firm Springing Touch”
SUCCESS (Great Arcana, rolled +3)

Hhannvis lays his palm flat to the boundary and speaks the command through Springing Touch. The glow snaps inward, then obeys, drawing tight along the seam.
The sorting dais answers with a deep stone-thud. Its plates slide home, and the open passage mouths begin to narrow behind the accepted side.

Zarona Vos Zhurshitt
There. It listens to you now.

Sefru
The chamber is sealing. Hold still, Hhannvis.
The frost-light on his spear flares once more, then pours into the lockwork like white blood. Above, the breach flickers with wing shadows, but the draft weakens.

The Wounded Survivor
It is closing... for us.
The last gap shuts with a grinding sigh. A hidden line of script blinks open across the dais face, newly awakened by Hhannvis's name.

“I tell them, the lord has abandoned you for failing to see simple laws of life and you have broken them daily, greed is your agenda because has a hold of you.”
SUCCESS (Superb Willpower, rolled +2)

Hhannvis lets the accusation settle into the chamber before he moves again. His tone lands quiet, but it carries, and the survivors feel it like a verdict instead of a shout.

Hhannvis
Their greed is plain.
The Dirty Woman recoils, then stills, staring at the script with her mouth parted. The Wounded Survivor lowers their gaze, as if the words finally name something they have been carrying.

The Dirty Woman
You think that is all we are? Hungry and shameful?

The Wounded Survivor
No. He sees it because it is here.

Zarona Vos Zhurshitt
Speak plainly, all of you. The chamber has answered his name, not your excuses.

Sefru
Then answer him back. What law did you break that made this place turn on you?

The Wounded Survivor
We took from the store-mark and called it need. We did it again, and again.
The script on the dais brightens at the admission. The seal holds, but the chamber gives a shallow groan, like a great beast listening in its sleep.

“I say, you must repent and turn from greed, at least then your soul stands in anyway, even small. You need the overseer, Ao, to consider you, even if slightly”
SUCCESS (Superb Willpower, rolled -3)

Hhannvis
You must repent, and turn from greed. Then your soul stands, even a little. You need Ao to consider you.
The chamber takes the words in without echo. The glowing script steadies, and the sickly groan in the stone drops to a deeper, listening rumble.

The Dirty Woman
Repent? After all this, you still ask that of us?

The Wounded Survivor
He is not mocking us. He is naming the wound.

Zarona Vos Zhurshitt
Ao is a fairer judge than hunger. Say the truth plainly, and stop hiding behind need.

Sefru
If you mean it, say it while the dais hears you. This place remembers what is spoken honestly.

The Wounded Survivor
I repent of taking more than need. I ask Ao to see me, even if only a little.
At once, the frost-light on Hhannvis's gear gutters down to a thinner, steadier thread, and the chamber's constriction eases by a breath. The cost lands with it, a hollow chill tugging through his limbs as the sanctum keeps its shape.
