The Star Streak descends beneath a sky crowded with moons, its crystal hull reflecting their pale colors. Vast imperial towers rise beyond a many-tiered citadel of white stone and golden windows.
The ship settles beside the Great Library. Kael steps onto the landing court in star-black armor, his star-black sword at hand, while Aurora, Sophie, Maisie, Emma, Miles, Anna, and Julia remain close behind.
Library guardians, adult humans in layered blue-and-silver robes with sturdy builds and stern, watchful faces in layered blue-and-silver robes watch the armor uneasily. Their spears remain lowered, and the great doors open only after a long, uncertain pause.
Inside, dustless halls climb through the citadel, packed with sealed shelves, floating index tablets, and mosaics depicting imperial victories beneath countless stars.
An elderly woman archivist approaches, slight and sharp-faced, with white hair braided beneath a violet hood. She carries a crystal ledger clasped to her chest.

The Archivist
Wait. That symbol on your armor matches a sealed record. The library catalogs your past under a name you have never heard.
The archivist turns the ledger toward Kael. A matching constellation-mark glows beneath its crystal cover, while the surrounding guardians exchange troubled glances and await his response.

Open the sealed record of Kael's past
“Aurora stands next to Kael and he opens the sealed record of his past. The book tells of an ancient battle eons ago that destroyed gods and entire worlds. One god, an alien god of war and lust was gravely wounded defending a goddess of love and fertility. Those that wounded the god were slain, but the god of war and lust was cast down into another dimension with no memory of his past. This god was described as having armor and a sword as black as space itself with stars and constellations that can be seen on them faintly. In his wisdom, the god had created a secret contingency plan centuries before the great war, in case something should ever happen to him. Part of that contingency plan was to transfer his memories into a few crystals, while his invisible servants "The Influencers" manipulate circumstances behind the scenes. The invisible "Influencers" led his to the crystal. And through reincarnation, his former wives were to be returned to him.”
SUCCESS (Good Reasoning, rolled +1)

Aurora steps beside Kael, her silver form reflecting the ledger’s glow. The archivist hesitates, then extends the crystal-bound record into his waiting hands.
Kael opens the sealed record. Ancient script unfurls across the crystal, accompanied by silent visions of gods and entire worlds breaking beneath a starless war.
The account names an alien god of war and lust, gravely wounded while defending a goddess of love and fertility. His attackers fell, but he was cast into another dimension without memory.
The record’s likeness is unmistakable: armor and sword black as space itself, faintly marked by stars and constellations. The image mirrors Kael’s own equipment.
Further pages reveal a contingency prepared centuries before the war. Crystals preserved fragments of the god’s memories, while invisible servants called the Influencers shaped events toward their recovery.

The Archivist
The final passage claims reincarnation would restore his former wives to him. It does not name them, nor explain whether the prophecy has begun.

Aurora
Then this record gives you an origin, Captain, but not a command. What you are now remains yours to decide.
