The archivist leads Kael, Miles, Sophie, and Aurora into a secluded annex. Shelves of dark crystal hush the library beyond, while the open record glows in Kael’s hands.
Its script blooms into a living vision: Miles and Sophie, unmistakably themselves yet dressed in close-fitting black garments, recline upon embroidered pillows inside a richly appointed tent. They serve food to a seated figure bearing Kael’s face.
The Archivist
No names are preserved here, Captain. Likeness and pattern may survive reincarnation, but resemblance is not proof.
The vision offers no date, vow, or certainty. It fades into drifting sparks, leaving Miles rigid beside the shelves and Sophie’s red hair bright against the annex gloom.
Aurora
The record distinguishes neither memory from prophecy nor former bond from symbolic design. I find the omission deliberate, not conclusive.
Sophie
Captain, you have gone very quiet. Does the image awaken anything you can recognize?
The crystal script contracts to a single unanswered constellation. The archivist waits with her ledger open, while Miles watches Kael and Sophie studies his guarded silence.
“A grey skinned messenger with auburn hair arrives at the library with a message for the captain and crew to visit the ship of the local commander of the intergalactic empire, a female Overlord named Thalassa. The Overlords rule the empire are a race of colossal humanoids with blue skin and pink hair and yellow eyes. The captain and crew arrive on her huge silver space ship and she sits upon a throne like seat in the bridge room. She wears revealing golden armor.”
