The Star Streak’s crystal hull settles around the captain’s cabin. Kael’s wardstone remains warm in his grasp, then releases pale images that spill across the walls and air.
A battlefield beneath a starless sky appears first. A younger Kael kneels beside fallen companions, his unscarred face lowered as ash drifts through the silence.
The vision folds into another: the first moment black armor and a star-dark sword answer his touch, surrounding him with cold constellations and unfinished purpose.

Aurora
These are memories, but not a complete record. The wardstone reveals grief without surrendering the secrets beneath it.
Aurora, Sophie, Maisie, Emma, Miles, Anna, and Julia remain gathered in the cabin. Their faces reflect the visions, while the image of the fallen companions fades before anyone can identify them.

Emma
You have carried this alone for a long time. But whatever else remains hidden, it is now standing in the room with us.

Miles
Captain, if those memories are asking something of you, you do not have to answer every question at once.
“Kael has a vision or memory of Miles in the sheer purple silk outfit of a concubine or slave girl in a tent with him surrounded by pillows. She feeds Kael grapes and cheese from a silver platter. Kael blinks and shakes his head and the memory (vision?) is over. He doesn't know whether it was a distant memory or a future yet to happen.”
SUCCESS (Great Perception, rolled -1)

The wardstone warms again. Purple silk, silver platters, and a tent crowded with pillows replace the cabin walls in a sudden, vivid memory.
Miles appears there in the unfamiliar finery, feeding Kael grapes and cheese while lamplight trembles across the fabric. Her expression is unreadable, and the scene offers no date.

Kael Umal
Memory or future. I cannot tell.
Kael blinks and shakes his head. The tent, platter, and impossible arrangement vanish, leaving only crystal walls, familiar faces, and the wardstone cooling in his hand.

Miles
Captain? You went still. What did you see?

Aurora
The wardstone showed an unanchored possibility. It bears the weight of truth, but not always its place in time.

Emma
Then we should not treat it as a promise or a warning yet. Let the vision end where it ended.

Have Miles see Kael with Sophie and Maisie, unexplained.
“Miles, the former thief, follows the captain around the ship in silence. Everywhere Kael goes, Miles is sure to follow, like a lost puppy. She doesn't follow him out of malice but curiosity and dare she admit it....love. While swabbing the deck she watches Kael go to the Helm Room with Emma. The ship comes to a stop. Miles watches through the keyhole as Kael, Emma, Maisie and Sophie interact lustfully. Kael kisses one woman while the other is at his side and another watches. Miles sees it all through the door. The scene gets more intense. Kael and the women in the room can hear Miles outside. They are all breathing hard”
SUCCESS (Superb Agility, rolled +1)

Miles trails Kael through the Star Streak in silence, carrying the deck brush wherever he goes. Her curiosity keeps pace with him, despite every attempt to look busy.
When Kael enters the Helm Room with Emma, Maisie, and Sophie, the ship’s living hum deepens and the vessel comes to a smooth halt among the stars.
Miles kneels beside the door and peers through the keyhole. Inside, Kael and the three women share private affection, their closeness unmistakable in the quiet helm light.
The intimate moment grows more intense behind the closed door. Following the safety of the scene, the details fade from view, leaving only muffled movement and unsteady breathing.

Sophie
Someone is outside.
The voices within fall briefly silent. Miles freezes at the keyhole, brush still in hand, while the ship waits motionless and the door’s shadow shifts beneath it.

Emma
Miles, you may come in, or you may give us privacy. Choose honestly.

“Just as Kael and the women inside finish Miles finishes what she is doing outside and leaves. The ghostly woman Whisper warns of a threat approaching the Star Streak. The crew return to their stations.”
SUCCESS (Superb Agility, rolled -1)

Miles lowers the brush, finishes her task outside the helm room, and slips away down the corridor without looking back. The door’s shadow settles.
Inside, the private moment ends quietly. Emma straightens her clothing, Sophie returns to the helm-throne, and Maisie gathers the living charts from the floor.
A pale figure gathers in the helm room’s crystal wall: Whisper, the ghostly woman, her translucent features wavering with the ship’s deep pulse.

Whisper
Captain, a presence approaches through the dark between stars. It has felt the Star Streak move, and it is coming.
The warning passes through the vessel like a cold breath. Emma moves toward the infirmary passage, while Maisie carries the chart to its reading stand.

Sophie
Then I will hold the helm. Maisie, give me the safest course you can find.
Sophie takes the helm, Maisie resumes navigation, and Emma returns to her medical stores. The Star Streak’s living hum deepens as every station receives its crew.

Defend the Star Streak from the approaching presence
“A ghostly ship with tattered sails approaches from a distance. The captain orders Anna to fire the magical brass cannons of the Star Streak at the phantom vessel. The cannons purple energy beams sear into the ghost ship, but the ship keeps coming. Aurora takes flight and places her hands together, she fires off a huge blue energy beam and destroys the ghost ship.”
FAILURE (Fair Leadership, rolled -2)

A ghostly ship emerges from the dark, its tattered sails streaming without wind. Pale lanterns burn along its ruined hull as it bears straight toward the Star Streak.

Kael Umal
Anna, fire the brass cannons.

Anna
With pleasure, Captain.
Anna throws the firing levers. The magical brass cannons thunder, launching purple beams that sear across the void and strike the phantom vessel amid shrieking spectral light.
The ghost ship tears open beneath the barrage, yet its broken sails pull it onward. Fragments of its hull stretch like mist, reforming around the wounds.

Aurora
The cannons cannot disperse what has no living anchor. I will end its passage.
Aurora launches skyward, silver form blazing above the deck. She clasps her hands, and a colossal blue beam erupts, engulfing the ghost ship and scattering it into silent motes.
