The Star Streak’s gentle vibration becomes a pounding resonance. Beyond the cannon deck’s blue-white glow, black-hulled vessels descend through the star-dark, their spiked armor framing ranks of pale Scro warriors.
Sophie
They are tightening the crescent. I can hold our course, but not against those shadow-hooks for long.
Hooked bands of shadow lash across the void and bite into the Star Streak’s hull. The rune cannons flare, answering the ship’s living pulse with a hungry blue radiance.
Anna
Captain, the cannons are aligned. Give me the broadside, and I will break their formation.
Anna throws the firing rune. A magical broadside erupts from the cannon deck, streaking across the darkness as radiant sigils and starfire. Three Scro vessels shudder under the impact, their hooked shadows snapping loose.
The damaged vessels veer away, but the remaining ships hold formation. Beneath the Star Streak, the unseen tether pulls hard, feeding the enemy’s assault through the wounded hull. Severing it is now the only way to escape.

“As the pale orcs ships come within range of the Star Streak the captain yells "Open fire!". Large bolts of purple light blast from the cannons tearing the Scro vessels apart. Only a couple manage to come within range and board the Star Streak, but the crew is ready and cut them down as they board. The captains wields his sword with great lethality, Miles fires her pistol, Sophie cast a couple of spells and Julie emerges gliding into battle and tearing the Scro apart. In mere moments the battle ends as swiftly as it began.”

Only two vessels reach the Star Streak. Their boarding ramps strike the deck, but the crew meets them before they can spread through the ship.
Kael Umal's star-patterned sword flashes through the clash. Miles fires her pistol from behind the cannon housing, Sophie's spells burst across the deck, and Julia glides into the melee with terrible speed.

Drive them overboard! The ship is ours, and it stays ours!
In moments, the last Scro falls back into the star-dark. Their fleet lies shattered or fleeing, while the Star Streak's low vibration settles into a victorious rhythm.

Captain, the way ahead is clear. But the lower-deck bell is ringing. Something took damage during the boarding.
